OKW Best Bldgs.

We would like a 1-bedroom water view that is fairly close to the general store and or a pool. What buildings would that be? Thanks for any info

For a great view of water/golf course and proximaty to a smaller pool, I like the Miller's Road area (buildings 19, 20, 21). I think it is one of the best views at OKW, and it is fairly easy walking distance to HH as well. Not sure why being close to the general store would be important though. We have never found much there. Be aware that every site at OKW is a short internal bus ride away from HH as well.

23,62,16,17.18.20.21 all have some kind of water view and are close to one pool or another, and are close to HH. If you want to give up being close to HH there are others that have nice water views also. Keep in mind that all units are close to a pool, and bus stop.

I forgot to mention that the buildings on Millers Road do NOT have the second door to the bathroom, so if you have anyone staying in the living room, this would not be a good choice. In fact, the only buildings close to HH that have the second door are 62,63, and 64. Of those, 62 would have the best views, and is close to the main pool, but if you are traveling this fall, that pool will be closed.

We had a nice water view in bldg 43, which is right across the street from the Turtle Pond pool. It's pretty far back in the complex if you don't have a car.

We stayed in Bld. 41. It had a great view of the golf course and was next to the Turtle Pond Pool.

On our last visit to OKW we were in building 13, ground floor, 2 BR, I think the room was 1314. We loved it!

Building 13 is directly across from the HH.

Just a word to the wise, that being that getting a room close to HH after the slide goes in may not be the best idea anymore. With the slide being so popular there will be a lot more cars parked down near the HH area. People staying there may have trouble finding a parking spot. Just a thought to help you think about your requests for rooms at OKW. It may also be a problem for people checking in??( Sorry, this was suppose to be a new thread)!!!!

Also remember just because you request doesn't always mean you will get it especially wanting to be close to HH. That usually seems to be the most requested.

for our 1st trip home (just got back today) but when we got there nothing was available in any of those buildings. Since we had been on the road for 24 hrs we "settled" for what was available in bldg 52 and it couldn't have worked out better.
A short walk from the bus stop and pool, quiet and with a view of the canal and golf course.
Admittedly, it was our first time, but I think maybe the whole "need" to be close to HH is a bit overrated.

It's hard to believe we have to start our countdown back at about 350 days again...
