OKW - are buses to parks direct or through Downtown Disney?

We're debating OKW vs. BCV. We're staying with a 3 year old and a 17 month old, and of course want to consider "commute" time into our decision. I've heard that at OKW the buses take you to Downtown Disney and then you have to wait there for the park buses? True? If so, big bummer - that must add like 20 minutes at least to commute time.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

The OKW busses take you directly to the parks (unless you get on the DTD one! )

The plus of the OKW busses are that they are dedicated to the resort. No additional stops at other resorts.
The negative is that they have quite a few internal stops & you can start feeling a little loopy after a bit

When we visited last year we stayed at OKW and moved over to BW. I preferred the bus service at OKW as BW shared their busses with Swan, Dolphin, YC & BC. Crowded, Hot & smelly at the end of a long day.

Just returned from a Beach Club Villas Stay. I can report that Boardwalk Swan Dolphin Yacht and Beach do not share as many buses as they used to. Most of our buses seemed to be Beach/Yacht/Boardwalk or just Beach/Yacht buses. Only a few did all 5.

We have been very unhappy with buses at Boardwalk in years past but are hopeful things are better because we like to be close to MGM and EPCOT.

At OKW, we love the rooms and were rarely unhappy with the buses even with the extra internal stops.

NO! OKW buses go directly to the parks. they always have.

now some people think the buses would go faster just limit some of the stops....just not mind....

and yes it is true that you will be spending more time in the resort than getting to the parks.

however that say - OKW is a lovely place to stay!!!

OKW was originally designed for the older adults (it was the originally DVC timeshare). So the transportation is great!!!!

however with a 3 year old do you really think you are going to get out of the MK?

I might consider VWL instead.
