OKW and golf

Can anyone tell me the name of the course that goes through OKW? Has anyone played it? Prices, info, etc? Best rooms if you want to view the course? Thanks!

It is the Lake Buena Vista Course. It goes through most of the OKW property so there are many different rooms that have golf course views, at different tees. Here is the info on the course itself:

LAKE BUENA VISTA: 18 Holes; Designed by Joe Lee; Water hazards. The Lake Buena Vista Course meanders through a pine forest and is well bunkered.

CHAMP - Yardage: 6,829 Rating: 72.7 Slope: 128 Par: 72
MEN'S - Yardage: 6,268 Rating: 70.1 Slope: 123 Par: 72
LADIES' - Yardage: 5,176 Rating: 69.4 Slope: 120 Par: 73

Pricing right now is good through January 15 but here is what it is:

Diseny Resort Guests: $79 Monday -Thursday / $89 Friday-Sunday
Day Visitors: $89 Monday-Thursday / $99 Friday-Sunday

Resort Guest & Day Visitor Golf Rates are per person for greens fee, use of electric cart and pre-round practice balls.

The only way I know to get a DVC discount (and believe me, with a DH who golfs as much as mine, we're always on the lookout for discounts!) is to buy the DVC golf badge. Last time I checked, it cost about $85, and allowed you to play any WDW course after 10:00am for a special price: Jan-Apr-$95 per round,May-Sept-$35, Oct-Dec-$50 per round. Unfortunately, we haven't been lucky enough to get any of the "best rooms" for golf course views, our views have always been mediocre. But I have OKW room reports, and I'd be happy to check which buildings commented on great golf course views. What size unit do you want? Most of the studios don't have great golf course views because of all the vegetation. However, the studios in Building 20, 23, and 63 reportedly have good golf course views.

Hi there,

We stayed in Room 2020 third floor studio during march April. The view of the course was excellent and you could almost read the name on the ball, you were close.

I don't think you can get 2 studios linked, but ask, others may know something more.

Ask for 2020, next to a pool and a great view of HH.

Unfortunatlety this is not an option. Studios are only connected to one bedrooms (so they can make a 2 bedroom option). Studios do not connect to other studios.

Be sure to check out all the dents in the buildings near the course!! When the sun is right, they are easy to spot. Once, when we were out on our back porch at OKW watching the golfers go for the water, trees, etc, one bounced a golf ball off the ROOF of our building!!

Just to add to that: for those of you who've ever complained about too much foliage "blocking" the balconies. I've often been sitting on my balcony watching the golfers, and heard golf balls hitting the trees around me. Thanks goodness for those trees-better those trees than my head.
