I know that some of the resorts the guest will receive a card or call for their birthday. What about OKW? Is there a place I can get a cake or special treat delivered? If I tell them we are there for a birthday, will they do anything special? :wizard:

While staying at OKW this past January we mentioned at the concierge desk the day before that it was Step-MIL birthday the next day. They asked if she had a favourite character and we told them Goofy.

The next morning we got her the birthday button at Magic Kingdom and she got some nice comments from cast members during the day.

This is what we found the next day back at the room when we came for an afternoon break:

After that we went to Epcot where they told us to get the Epcot birthday button too. When taking a boat across the world showcase lagoon the CMs got the boat to sign happy birthday to her! We also mentioned her birthday when checkin in for ADR at the Garden Grill and they brought out a cake for her at the end and didn't charge for her drink (a Daquiri, which we didn't expect).

She really liked the attention and especially liked the card and balloons.

So make sure to mention it, something good could happen!

In November, I got the bouquet of balloons, an "autographed" picture of Mickey, and a special certificate during my 50th b'day party at OKW with girlfriends. Each park and restaurant also provided special greetings and/or treats (free dessert, etc.) Lots of fun!!!

We stayed at OKW for our DGS 6th birthday...on March 17, St Patrick's Day,
several years ago. I mentioned his birthday several times to various CMs.

We went into Olivia's to order a cake, but they only had chocolate, he wanted vanilla. The CM then dialed Boardwalk Bakery for me and I ordered his birthday cake. We picked it up the next day,( by the way, it was delicious)!

In spite of mentioning his birthday to several people and the CM even calling the bakery for me, he did not get any cards or ballons, etc.

So if you get some nice cards, ballons, etc. it is a wonderful surprise, but be aware that not every birthday, etc, is acknowledged.

To tell you the truth, I was disappointed after reading the great things done for others, as reported on the Dis boards, but I guess there are a lot of birthdays every day!!!!

We still had a wonderful time! :cheer2:

Where do you get he birthday buttons at the parks? All three of my nephews have the same birthday (6,6 & 3) and will be visiting on their b-day next year.

At Epcot you go to guest relations, it's inside the park, past the globe on the left side as you walk. This is coming in the front entrance. DMom got a button, and when we were waiting for Soarin, the CM asked everyone to sing to her. She was pleased!

I see bobbiwoz answered for Epcot. I beleive you just go to guest relations at any of the parks. At MK we got it at City Hall (on the left as you come onto Main Street). Step MIL didn't know we had planned this, so DW asked her to go in with her while getting a map. She was really surprised :teeth:
