We're going to try to rent points for the first time at OKW and I would love to hear about this resort. Favorite building to stay. Reasons why you like it over other DVC's etc. I would love and information or story you may have to share about OKW!
Thanks!!! :teeth:

We just love OKW! We bought points there this past Spring and took our first trip in Sept. after checking it out in person in April. It is such a relaxing, tropical place. We stayed in a villa near the main pool/hospitality house, which was nice b/c we could walk anywhere we needed to go and when we used the buses, we just caught them at the last stop at the hospitality house.

Our 2BR villa was just perfect! It was so spacious and we loved the layout. We also loved having a washer & dryer and the kitchen. The views of the golf course were beautiful, and we loved the large balcony with a nice sized table. I loved that we felt "removed" from the WDW hustle and crowds -- we hardly even saw anyone at OKW b/c it is spread out.

Another fun thing was taking the water shuttle to DTD and we also rented a little speed boat and went down the canal ourselves. The pool was great, had a nice slide and plenty of palm trees and shade.

We can't WAIT to go back!!! I can't speak to other DVC resorts, but OKW requires the fewest points and has the biggest rooms.

Watch out renting it can get you hooked, I did and now own.

Going back to OKW in two weeks...I think it may be our 6th stay there(and is where we own DVC points). I love it! My boys like BW better because it is more hustle/bustle but they also know that "if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!" There is plenty to do at OKW and yet the villas give you a nice break from the park activities and the crowds. Cocktails on the porch, strolls along the golf course, a walk to the spa at Saratoga add some variety to a Disney vacation. As far as where to stay within OKW, the only place I have not liked is a building where we heard lots of highway noise PLUS the bus turnaround was right in front of our villa (think VERY squeaky brakes!!!). In November we were in the SouthPoint area and liked it so much that I have requested it for our next trip.

We actually own 2 contracts at OKW,s o you know we love it.

I love it because of the size of the units. They are, by far, the biggest units in terms of square foot measurement of all the DVC resorts. You really feel like you can spread out.

I love it because you park your car in front of the unit, so it's always quickly accessible, instead of having to wait for valet service.

I love it because it gives you the feeling of living in a little town,

I love the main pool area because there are little snack bars nearby, so it's nice to have a little lunch sititng by the pool. I also love the new slide.

I love it because there is a little boat that you can take to DTD, which is a fun way to get there.

I love it because there is a walking path you can take to SSR & DTD, wich is also a fun way to get there.

I love that the view form pretty much every unit is great...either golf course, water, or wooded. No need to worry about a dumpster view at OKW!!!!!!

We have been members at OKW since '93. We also have two contracts, both at OKW. When we go, I always book at another DVC and my DD and DS just want to go "home"!! We love the relaxed atmosphere, parking convenience and of course the new pool slide. As to our favorite building, it would 23. It is located right over the bridge, so easy access to the main pool area and the FIRST bus stop at the end of the night. We also stalk buses in the morning. When we notice our bus is in the resort, we know we have time to get to the HH bus stop and decreases our waiting time. Have fun and enjoy, I know we do... :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

One of the reasons we love it is that it seems more like a "home" to us, and not like we're visitors staying at a hotel. Part of that is the fact that we park right outside our unit, and honestly, we prefer the outside doors. Somehow the whole experience seems like our second home on Disney property. And occassionally we walk up to the "center of town" where the pool, Olivia's, Good's to Go, and Gurgling Suitcase are. So far our favorite building has been #15, but we don't have many to compare to-yet!

Our family LOVES OKW! The rooms are huge, the beds (at least in studios) are queens and comfy, the views awesome and peaceful and quiet!

Love the pool and slide, bus service is great, boat to DTD is so fun!

Our favorite Building is 55. Overlooks the "river" and the greenery is magnificient! Also close to bus stop and small pool (laundry too).

Have a blast, warning...it's addicting!!!

We are staying in a studio in December, We have a confirmation number but they have not assigned us a building. Anyone have a map of OKW so I can request a building. We have 2 small children 4 and 2 and I hear there is a pool and playground next to each other, and suggestions???

You are better off asking for certain features rather than specific buildings...for instance, water/golf view, higher/lower floor, or close to HH/bus stop/pool, etc. You might also specify areas since that is how OKW is laid out (SOUTHPOINT, TURTLE POND,MILLERS ROAD, etc) Just FYI, in about half a dozen trips to OKW as DVC members, we have almost NEVER gotten our location requests! But we have liked all locations we were assigned except Building 20 (too much traffic and bus noise and too much pool noise late into the night).

DW and I walked the paths over to SS and OKW from DTD. We were so impressed with OKW that we just offered on a contract there. We own at BCV and love it there too, but wanted a variety of a quieter place and by DTD. We had a cast member show us a villa and 1 bdrm there and I would agree they are larger. Bldgs 62, 63, and 64 are the only ones that have elevators in case you are taking elderly or handicapped individuals.

Same here. We rented at OKW a few times, fell in love with the resort, then we took the plunge & bought!!

Definitely feels like "home".
