Okw 2br lockoff?

Hi all,
We are looking at renting points from someone who owns dvc, and he said that he could get us into a 2br lockoff--- . Can anyone tell us the difference in that vs. a nonlockoff? TIA

I know "dedicated" 2BR have 2 beds in the 2nd bedroom not a sofabed.(or a kitchenette)..ie studio.
But OKW has 2 beds in the studios already.

A 2BR lockoff is a 1BR with a studio for the 2nd bedroom. Their is a door that
connects the 2 units.

FYI - points for a 1BR lockoff & a connecting studio are actually more than just getting the 2BR unit.

Just make sure the guy is not trying to get you to rent more points from him. If you went with the 2BR, which is the same size unit, same facilities & amenities it would be less points for you to rent (at least at OKW it is).

Thanks! I talked to him again and the lockouts were not available, so we are going with a dedicated 2br- is there anything else I should know? He did give some references and I have emailed them...

Definitely check the references.

We rented before we bought & had a good experience, but we were cautious. We definitely checked the references.

The main differences between a 2-Bedroom lock-off and a 2-Bedroom dedicated is there would be two entrance doors with keys for both units with the Lock-off. If the same units where rented separately each would have their own entrances and the connecting door between the units can be locked-off from both sides.

In the dedicated 2-Bedroom you wouldn't have the kitchenette in the second bedroom just the main kitchen.

In a lock off two bedroom at OKW, there will be two balconies/porches. One small one in the studio portion and one large one in the one bedroom portion. In the dedicated two bedroom there is only one porch. In a dedicated two bedroom at OKW, you will have a large closet where the entrance would be for a studio lockoff. Where the kitchenette would be you will have an extra bathroom sink.

Thank you! That's really good info. I wouldn't want my kids to have an outside door in their room, and the extra closet space is handy. The porch doesn't matter.
