My family and I are staying at OKW in April and it will be the first time we've ever stayed on Disney property ::MickeyMo . I'm making sure to plan for little details here and there that will make our trip just a little "extra" special. Is there a building and villa in particular that anyone has stayed at and just loved? A building or room that you could actually view illuminations from or just REALLY enjoyed the view from?

I read that the last stop for the bus system is at the main house (where Olivia's restaurant is). If this is so, then naturally it would be better to wait there for a trip to one of the parks, yes?

Thanks for any recommendations you can give. It will be my DD's birthday and my 4yo nephew's first trip  .

Thanks,

You are going to love, love, love the two bedroom villa at OKW. We've done it about three times and it's really like "living" at WDW. :) It's HUGE!!!! :) I would recommend buildings 12, 13, 62, 63, and 64. They are close to the main areas, pool, restaurant, and main bus stop. Our first trip we were in building 64 and it had an elevator... some buildings do not... and a nice view of the golf course. Our second trip we were in building 13, overlooking another part of the golf course, and we enjoyed it as well. Our third stay we were in building 22 and I hated it. :( Too far from everything.

Good Luck! Check-in early and I hope you can snag a great building!!! :)

Here's a link to the DIS Boards page about OKW.
And a link to the OKW map.
Buildings 62, 63 and 64 are the only buildings with elevators. Because of that and because they are close to the Hospitality House, they are in high demand.
Epcot is across Bonnet Creek Parkway (the line on the left side of the map) and off the top of the map. Because of all the trees (and a lot of Illuminations actually takes place close to the ground) there are not a lot of places in OKW where you can actually see Illuminations. When you look at the map, the light grey lines are roads and the parking area outside each building (very convenient parking). The entry of each room faces the parking area. The only windows that face that direction are some high up in wall frosted bathroom windows. The other windows face green space, water or golf course.

I hear that OKW is so low key and relaxed and you never experience the fast paced hustle and bustle as with other resorts :smooth: . I've also read that alot of people check in way before 4:00pm and there's usually always a room ready.

I hope that because it isn't as busy as the rest I can request one of these buildings ;) .

Thanks Again,

We always check in as early as possible, but our room has not always been available because we checked in early. Once we checked in at 7AM, but our room wasn't available until after 4. This was OKW.
