So here goes again for me. I think I have it all figured out finally. We are going to begin our stay at either Pop or POR until the Saturday the Pop Warner kids arrive. At that point, after hearing that they stay at the ALL STARS, POP, and POR we looked at other resorts and decided to finish the rest of our stay at CBR where it would be more quiet. Now, another poster just asked about CSR and a few people mentioned that there were still some families there during the Pop Warner event, as the parents can stay wherever they want. But my thinking is, let's say I'm at CBR or CSR, it would only be a few families few and far between, right? I couldn't see that being a problem. But I guess what I'm asking you, is, is it just a few families or is it enough that you notice more kids by the pool and running around the resort? I have tried looking at other dates for our family to go and no matter how we slice it, we will be stuck with Pop Warner for at least four days. What do you think?

sorry CBR is on the list.

CBR and All Star sports - are the moderate and value resort that Disney sends Pop Warner guests too.

Music is sports back up.

POR is CBR back up.

CSR generally has less.

Pop is not on the list - but parents or kids who know how close Pop is to WWoS will still stay there. So they can walk in an emergency.

I would go with CSR or a DVC resort - both OKW and SSR shouldn't have any Pop warner guests.

Could someone tell me what Pop Warner is? I never payed any attention to it before but since we will be going in Dec 2008 it has now peeked may attention.
Thanks

Pop Warner is a national cheer and football association. They hold their final competition at WDW in December.

I had no idea. I think I will stay away form that week. Is it always the first week in Dec. We are actually booked for Dec 11-18. So we should be ok.

I think you will drive yourself crazy trying to avoid them. Regardless of where you pick, there are going to be some families that will not pick the official hotels, either due to them being full or wanting to get away also from the masses. So during Pop Warner week you could see PW kids at the Grand Floridian or even DVC as I know some DVC members that are taking their kids for PW.

They will definitely be at the parks, when not competing.

Hi Sammie! I am already driving myself crazy. I have been stressing over this for months. We really want to go at Christmastime, but not the week of Christmas. That leaves us two weeks for a possibility and we will be there for at least ten days, depending on what we decide. We will only be around Pop Warner kids for three or four days, but that is one day too many for me. I know when I was in college and I was even more tolerable then, that we stayed at a resort with the cheerleaders and it bothered me the whole time with too many people in the eating areas and by the pool and screaming obscenities at all hours of the day. Now that I'm an adult with a family of my own, I certainly don't want to expose them to that. I'm not too worried about the parks, just the around the resort time we'd have to spend. I don't want to change the time of year that we go, and I don't want to cut our trip short either. Who knows, maybe we'll just go stay offsite the last four days or something. The more I think about this, the more my head hurts

I won't stay in the All Stars or CBR - it bread and butter is the Pop warner and other things like them.

so pick any of the other resorts. and if they start cheering outside your room and it bothers you - then call security!!!!

at other resorts these kids have to toe the line. It is only at the all stars that your complaints will be ignored.

but you got to complaint. otherwise these kids will walk all over you.

someone says that the website finally admitted to the fact that its kids were trouble makers at Disney.

Spiceycat, is there a link or post that states where they stay each year? I was thinking of calling Disney directly myself but was wondering if they'd even tell me???

I don't think Disney will confirm where they are staying, I would trust SpiceyCat's info. The moderate least to be affected is CSR due to being a convention resort, they need the space.

Avoid the ones listed and complain if you are elsewhere and they are a nuisance. But it is kinda like hurricane season, if you book then you have to expect to possibly weather a few storms and if you book during PW, you might have to weather that too.

Good luck.

I'm sorry, but they DON'T toe the line at the other resorts.............POR was overrun with cheerleaders doing cheers everywhere when we stayed and it certainly wasn't one bit quiet!! Lobby, store, bar, food court & certainly not outside anywhere around the mansions area!! AllStars is always busy with all different sports teams (boys & girls), not just during Pop Warner week.

We stayed at CSR last year during Pop Warner and had NO trouble with :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: or football players. We were in the Casitas section and did not see ANY Pop Warner participants at the resort. The only time I saw them at all during our trip was Friday at MGM. There was a group of teenage girls screaming during the intro to ToT:eek: . I was nervous after reading all the negative threads before our trip, but thankfully they had no impact on our vacation.:)

Thanks for the tip on CSR, buffalogirl. I had read that about CSR being the only moderate they don't usually stay at so I think we'll either have to wrap up our vacation there, or stay at AKL for a few nights if we can afford it. I know they may still be at AKL, but unless they allow cheering on the Savannah, I think it may be a little more peaceful there :)
