Just got home this afternoon from a wonderful trip. We all tried to justify not going home, but reality quickly set in.Met Tinkerbell211 who was camped right next to us. Wonderful to meet fellow diser's. Got a quick chat with Campingcorgi, the night before we left. The weather was a little warm the second week, but better than Wisconsin. It was a first time trip for our DS's girlfriend and her 2 year old. Can you say BUZZ??? We all had a great time. Rented a golfcart for the whole time to tool around in. Anyone have any questions, we will try to answer them.

By the way Tinkerbell211, we handed your fastpass off the Campingcorgi. We did not get back to Animal Kingdom. My other son wasn't feeling well.

How nice that you met some fellow DISers. We are in Wisconsin too, and we are headed down for our 1st trip in 13 days :cool1:

What can you tell me about the drive? How long did it take you? :moped: I am getting more nervous about the drive as it gets closer. We are traveling with a 4 year old, so wish us luck ;) We plan on leaving in the middle of the night to get a head start while he is sleeping.

Sorry to hear that you had to come back ;)

I don't know where in Wisconsin you are coming from but it took us about 20-21 hours. We left home at 2am so the 2 yr old would sleep longer. He did really well. We had the computer and he watched movies, played with toys and colored. We drove down to Cartersville, GA the first night and then got up at 4am and drove the rest of the way. On the way back we didn't leave until 10am and stopped around the same area in Calhoun GA and drove the rest of the way the next day. We prefer to do the bulk of the drive the first day, however, we hit rush hour in Atllanta and it took us over and hour and a half to get through there and then my husband was done for the day.

I'm sure you will be fine. On the way down I couldn't believe how little traffic we had :goodvibes . Of course it was different on the way home:headache: . All in all it was a great trip.

I glad you arrived home safely. I hope to see you again next Easter Break! (I've already started working on DH.. :goodvibes )
Thanks again for the kind welcome and for being a great neighbor at FW!

Hey Tinkerbell211, we made it home just fine. It was great meeting you and your daughter as well. I hope you give the camping thing another try with the rest of your family along. I'm sure they will enjoy it as well. Have you recovered from your comando visit enough to work this week?

Just curious as to the days of the week that you traveled down and back? We are driving down on a Saturday, arriving early Sunday, and on the way back, we will be coming all the way from Key West, and that will be Thurs/Fri drive.

We are in central Wisconsin about 1/2 hour from Wausau. We also plan on leaving at 2:00am on the 5th. Glad to hear that worked out well for you. Our check day at FW is Sunday, so we pretty much plan on going straight through. I am comfortable driving w/pulling the camper, so we can share driving.

Where did you stay when you stopped on the way down and back?

Hope you had a great time but 900 loop looked like a parking lot with a few campers trapped among the cars and suv's.

Befferk- We drove to Cartersville GA on the way down and around the same area Calhoun GA on the way back. Both are just north of Atlanta. We went down on a Saturday 2am and arrived at FW on Sunday. On the way back we left on Friday 10am and arrrived home on Saturday.

Which way are you going? We drive out to Rockford and then drive down through Illlinois avoiding Chicago and all the tolls. A little longer (an hour), but much less stressful and only one toll.

Old Camper- It was more like our little pop up was in a sea of huge driveable rigs and a few 5th wheels. Doesn't matter though, we were at FW.
