Okay Universal experts pick our date to visit IOA.

Which is the best date to visit IOA?

  • Saturday, June 9

  • Sunday, June 10

  • Monday, June 11

  • Tuesday June 12

I voted for Tuesday because (a) it's not the weekend and (b) it's not Monday. I dunno, seriously, the weekends can be busy from the locals showing up, and Monday might be busier than Tuesday from those who spend two days at Universal - they might head to IOA on Monday for the Wizard. Just a guess.

I agree with Tuesday. Our kids are out of school in Florida by that date so weekends will be busy. Residents will fill the parks on the weekend before the tourists come and the really hot summer hits. ::yes::

Can you explain the Tuesday theory to me? Not that I don't trust your opinion just curious as to the thinking behind it.

I stay onsite and always check in early so i can hit parry hotter ville for early entry.

the past 3 visits, i have noticed that when i go in the first week of october, that section is not that full with guests.
it's early entry time period, no waits for ollivanders or FJ.....

when i have gone and stayed on site in late spring, same thing.

i have found that tuesdays and wednesdays at ioa during the day don't have the crowds that other days do.
maybe because day visitors break up their vacations to do the motherland for the first portion of their vacation and then add off site entertainment next portion and go back and finish the trip with disney.
Sundays is also a decent day as long as it is not a part of a 3 day weekend.

(off site entertainment could be seaworld, universal, swim w/dolphins, aquatica, busch, shopping, etc)

many vacations are saturday to saturday for families.
another popular stretch is Monday to Sunday vacations.

some people are limited (by employer) when taking an entire week. some require vacations be M-F dates.

the above makes Sundays also a decent day to visit UO.

i give the edge to making Tuesday a good day for a day at the darkside.

check out the costs of the express pass plus online.
if you see that they cost $24.99 for IOA on the day you are thinking of going, that is a decent indicator that there will not be crowds in that park.

the epp is date and park related.

check the epp costs for sunday and tuesday.
let that help you decide which day is best for you.
that is what i would do if i was in your place.

later tonight, i will go to that site and check the prices for epp.
i'll come back and post them for you to read.

looks like Sunday June 10th is a better day as of now.
It is $39.99 for the express plus pass and Tuesday June 12 is $49.99.

not bad crowds for a summer day.
that sunday should be fine.

i usually assume sundays would have locals there which adds more peeps in the parks.

the only thing that can change is the price of the express plus passes.
they can increase in price.

if universal anticipates larger crowds, they can increase the epp cost.

now don't rush out and buy the epp.......
the park should be fine w/o needing them.

now you have to decide which day.......
if you vote in your poll, share your answer with us.........

I agree with Mac on the Sunday. In my personal experience and from many crowd reports, Sunday tends to be less busy with people either leaving or arriving for their vacation. Locals don't seem to flock to Universal on Sunday. Maybe they are heading to Disney? We tend to go in February and end of August. We've also gone in September.

WOW! I just want to thank you for your help. This is awesome information. Our only visit to IOA was the week after Thanksgiving 2010 and we went on a Wednesday. We lucked out because FJ was walk on most of the day and my son was chosen at Olivander's. So it's going to be hard to top that visit. I was thinking Sunday due to it being a Check-in/check-out day. So for now it's Sunday June 10th. We will be up early and to the park before opening. Thanks again!

glad you were helped by my statement.

when someone is a day guest at UO and new to it, they are not aware there are ways to help decide the best day to be at UO.

anyone can use the express plus pass chart for checking out costs on dates.
the lower the epp cost, less peeps in the parks.
