I know, sometimes subjects on the Dis are beat to death... but being selfish and going in three weeks from today (:woohoo: ), I'd really like to hear some info, tips and opinions about the Peppermarket!

Oh, and does anyone have a pic of the card you use to order your food?

TIA, fellow Disers who love a good repeat!!

I found it was great for the variety and the portions were large enough to share which saved on money. I tried the nachos which I really enjoyed. (I think there's a pic on the categorized thread) and also had the burger and fries. The fries were really good as they were a a thick steak-cut and not thin. Really good potato taste. The burger was big enough my mom and I split it with the fries and were full.

I also liked that your meals were prepared as you ordered them! Burger was fresh and tasty!

The only tip I can offer is they auto charge 10% gratuity to your bill so if you want to add more feel free but you are giving that much anyways. If you choose to take the food for take-out, you have to mention that so they will remove the gratutity. They don't automatically take it off.

I love their Mexican food station. It's not authentic by any stretch of the imagination, but similar to the chain-type places. You get a TON of food. We always get 2 adult meals and then 2 extra plates to split with the kiddos - and my kids are big eaters. There is plenty to share. Of course, then you would probably give up rights to your dessert.

DH's favorite is the Wok. It's also lots of food and very fresh the times he's ordered it. I don't have a pic of the card, and it will be slightly confusing the first time you use it, but it doesn't take long to figure out.

Personally we've tried about 6 times over the past 8 years and I rarely have had anything I enjoyed. It might be a great value for the DDP, but OOP it is way overpriced for what you get IMHO. I have had really bad Chinese, really bad Italian, Really bad Pizza, and a tasteless wet burrito. I have had better nachos at the pool. Even when DH had a convention here the kids and I would use the car to ride over to the AS food courts for lunch. Many people rave about it, but I do not eat here at all anymore.

We really enjoyed this place!

I wouldnt say it was anything special (but we were on the DxDDP and so it had an awful lot to compete against) but it was always clean, food was fresh and tasty and the staff extremely friendly and efficient.

It's great how easy it is to take stuff like pizzas and burgers (any food available actually) back to your room if you want a bit of privacy.

Tip: If your on a DDP, they do a great selection of pastries, cakes and even some yoghurts which stay fully stocked right until closing (11pm when we went) so if you dont want a pudding at the time there was a great choice of stuff to bag up, take back to your room and have for breakfast :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. On average, how long does it take to get your itmes stamped, then get in line to pay for it, and lastly and most importantly, for them to bring it to your table? Does anyone think that the wait, espeshially in the morning when your going to be heading to the park is too excessive?

They don't bring the food to your table- you go get it. IT's faster than most TS to eat here, but not as fast as some QS.

On a recent trip we didn't stay at CSR, but we visited one night for dinner. I have stayed tehre in the past, and it was as good as I recall.

We had unacceptable meals at Chef Mickeys and Tusker House, so I was anxious to get a decent meal. PM fit the bill well.

I'll grant that PM pizza isn't NY pizza or anything, but it's some fo thebest on property. WAY better thanthe stuff we had at Pizza Planet a few days later. Eventhe left over pizza was better.

On DDP, DH got the steak it wasn't as good as Le Cellier's to be certain, but it was quite good. Plus, It actually came witha green veggie. All over WDW veggies seem to have disappeared from adult entrees. TO get this mela for a QS credit was amazing.

Beyond that, I ordered the chicken fajitas. The chicken was kind of grilled to order, but partly it was precooked. It was finished to order on the grill. It wasn't the best fajitias I've ever had, but I was craving tomato and it really hit teh spot. Considering this was a QS meal- I'd put it way above many other options. (Including most reosrt food court options).

Last, I was able to get a bowl of Strawberries as a snack credit. This to me seemed a minor miracle. Mostly fruit options at WDW are pretty limited. You can find red grapes and Melon ina number fo places. Beyond that...youc an find the periodic whole banana, whole apple or whole Starkist orange. Seeing strawberries and an array of fresh fruit at the PM was a great respite. the only downside of themeal was that the dessert options didn't thrill me. We got two okay cookies and a very sweet micro cup of yogurt. (not the same 'light strawberry' as you get elsewhere on property.)

Next year, we're staying at CSR.

Sounds like there are some great options! But let me get this straight- so you get the card punched/stamped, pay for it, go sit down until your order is up? Then you go get it? Sorry, I'm so confused...:confused3

No...let's say I want to go to Pepper Market for nachos (dine-in), here are the steps:

1. Go to Pepper Market hostess and tell them how many are in my party
2. Be led to a table and given a blank order card
3. Take my blank card to the Mexican station and order nachos
4. Give card to Mexican station worker/cook and she/he will stamp "nachos" on my card and give the card back to me
5. Wait at Mexican station for my nachos.
6. When nachos are ready, I return to my table and eat the nachos and order a drink from my waiter...waiter will mark on the card that I ordered a drink.
7 If I want dessert, I take the same card to the dessert station and order ice cream. Dessert station worker stamps "ice cream" on my card along with the nachos and the drink.
8. Return to table to eat ice cream.
9. When finished, I go to the cashier, hand them the card, they will see that I had nachos, ice cream and drink and will charge me then and I pay for everything at that time.

I hope this makes sense.

We've stayed at CSR the past two Decembers. I don't think we've ever had breakfast there, but have enjoyed many of the lunch/dinner options. My personal fave is the cheese calzone- it's huge! Like everything else at the Pepper Market, it's made fresh when you order it. My DH and DS12 liked the steak and the cheeseburgers.

It does take a little longer to get your food at PM than at other CS, but it's def. worth the wait!

Here's a link to some food pics and the order card, thanks to Buzz2001:

We went for lunch twice during the last trip.

The first time, we got there first and I had the bourbon chicken and DH got the fajitas. My in-laws got there after we got our food and we told them they had steak also, which is what they decided to get. They came back with their steak really quickly and I didn't realize that they didn't get a fresh cooked one. It was only after we left they mentioned that it wasn't that good and a little cold. Our food was really good.

My DH and I went another day, and we ordered something from the grill station and they were cooking the steaks fresh as they were ordered and they looked really good.

We were able to get fresh strawberries as a dessert and we also got ice cream and it was a good mix.

We really enjoyed the pepper market. I was growing really tired of most other CS options during our ten day trip.
My dd LOVED the Nachos and had them every time we went (4 times).
I tried the chicken, steak, enchiladas, and a breakfast platter.
All were good.
The only thing I wasn't fond of were the breakfast potatoes.
I liked that you could eat inside or outside.. the portions were HUGE. We never once finished our dessert but would grab a croissant or danish to go and use it for breakfast in the morning in our room.
I agree if paying out of pocket the prices are high. But it's balanced by how many fresh options you have.

Glad I could help! It's confusing enough trying to figure it out while you're there in the midst of it all. So, maybe this will help you be a bit less overwhelmed at your first visit. Enjoy!
