So here's my question (I apologize in advance, it's a UY question)


I just got off the phone with my rep and it's a DEC UY.

Because of our work/school schedules we take our annual trip in Aug. So is this a good UY for us or should we request July or a different month?

We've never had to cancel a trip before but I'm obsessing and I'm a little confused about the whole UY thing. Thanks so much! I'm so excited!

With a Dec UY, your banking window ends the last day of August. If you vacation in August, this should work. If you were to cancel, you would need to cancel 30 days or more in advance of your stay. That would give you time to bank your points before the 8 month banking window closes. So, you should be fine. Other more experienced members will likely chime in.

If you have a December use Year I believe your last banking date is July 31. I could be wrong but that is what I was told.

Well, I would ask for a different month if you think you mostly will vacation in August. If something did happen to your August vacation would you be able to take a just as long vacation between September and the end of November?

We have a March UY and until they changed the banking schedule it was perfect for us. We never really planned to go in January or February the only two months that weren't covered by at least some banking. Mostly, I do not bank, I borrow, but still.

It's my personal preference that I would want most of the year that I vacation in to follow the UY for any year. Vacationing in August, I would even be happy with a March UY...but no, I wouldn't like December. Again this is only because you say you take your major vacation in August.
