I'm planning a trip to Orlando with a friend. Now, this is a woman who can BARELY remember the color of her hair. She has the worst memory on the planet. I'm always reminding her of things.
We went maybe 4 years ago and stayed at PBH and had dinner at Mama Della's one night. We're going over restaurants while on the phone last night and we talked about Margaritaville and Pastamore. She said she didn't care either way about the former and for the life of her could not even remember having dinner at the latter. No surprise there.
But when I asked about Mama Della's..."The Italian restaurant in the hotel. I didn't care for it. Did you?"...
Oh, my God, I &@(%!#) LOVED IT! That was the best meal I ever ate. I've been thinking about it for years. Every time I go out, I try to order Pasta Carbonara to see if it could be that good, but it never is. I LOVED THAT!!!
It's quite sad. I know. I'm sorry.
The waiter was fat, I remember that. And he kept bringing more bread. That was good bread. It was the best. I kept thinking, "There can't be enough bread."
And didn't that woman come to our table? She did. I remember she patted you on the back and I knew you didn't like it and I thought you'd say something, but you didn't. You were very polite. Of course.
You didn't like the salad because it had that dressing you didn't like, but I LOVED it!
And it was like the never-ending pasta bowl. I kept shoving it in, even when it wouldn't go down - I was so full - but I couldn't help it. And, OH!!!! The Spinich!!! There were these spinich leaves on top. They were like a garnish, but not really; you were supposed to eat them. They were so *#&@%R^*(& good! They were, like, deep fried or flash frozen or I don't know what, but they were (*&#@^ awesome.
That was the best. I keep ordering it everywhere. But it's never as good.
You can make it. I got a thing at Target, but it wasn't the same.
And those guys came and played music. That was fine. But OH MY GOD, that pasta was good. I think I'm actually salivating right now.
That's the best (@#&*R%$ meal I ever had.
So, that's a "Yes", you want to go there?
I don't know. Do they still have that? I want THAT. But...what if it was a dream in my head? What if it isn't as good? I don't know....
So, no, you don't want to go there?
Wait, I'm thinking. And I'm thinking that, yeah, we should eat there. You can just tell them not to put any dressing on your salad.
I didn't care for the meal, either.
