Has anyone used the new Silcone Type Bakeware?

I would love to know what you think about it.

Better or worse than regualar bakeware?

It's so funny becuase I was going to post a thread asking about bakeware today!! We were thinking of making a batch of chocolate chip cookies and my cookie sheets NEVER work out right. So I was going to see what brands others suggest. We have to run to Target today so I was going to pick up some!!

Thanks for starting this!! :)

I dont know if I would use the silicone bakeware....I have read some articles on the health dangers with the use of plastics when cooking. I would want to be sure that the silicone's dont fall into the same catagory as what I read in the reports.
I have purchased the Pampered Chef bakeware and love it....The stones cook everything evenly....They are expensive but I have been buying them little by lttle.

My mom loves them. She bakes all the time. I have yet to buy them though.

Her favorite thing is the silicone sheets that go on the cookie sheets.

I haven't tried the silcone -bakeware pans etc

But I have the sheets that go on my cookie sheets and I love them - particularly this time of year when I make so many cookies. I really appreciate them when I make my jam thumbprint cookies - burnt jam can be such a mess.

I have a silicone bunt pan which is wonderful! The cakes pop right out, no sticking, and clean up is a breeze.

I use pampered chef stones for all my baking.....cup cakes/muffins/cookies/brownies/cakes/breads etc... all in stones.

I'm 100% sold on the stone's so that's all I own!

I have a silicone bundt pan (cheap, from Target), and a silicone loaf pan (Kitchen Aid), and I love them! There is absolutely NO sticking, and cleanup takes a few seconds. I've used the loaf pan for meatloaf as well as baking. I'm looking forward to getting more.

Love the silicone bakeware. I have bundt (2), loaf, 8x8.
I also have used Silpat on my cookie sheets for years. Wonderful stuff!! I bake cookies at least once a week and wouldn't be without it.

I haven't tried the silicone pans, but boy, the silicon pads are a Pastry Chef's best friend from what I've seen. The nice thing is that they clean up easily and keep the cookies from sticking - especially handy if you are trying to make a thin batter cookie like a tuile.

I think they looks so cool. And I saw a set of them on Sale at JcPenneys this week. So I just might give them a try.

Thanks everyone for your input.

I haven't used the silicone bakeware, but I bought the insulated (double layer) metal cookie sheets, and they are wonderful. No more burnt cookies on the bottom while the top is still not done.

If you don't have new pans that are insulated or anything you can place 2 pans together to get the same effect and keep the cookies from burning on the bottom.

Man! I wish I had some chocolate chips! I want to make cookies now.

I have an airbake cookie sheet but my muffins burn on the bottom as the same for cakes.

We are getting a new stove and I am looking for new cookware also.

Until you get your new cookware and new stove try placing your muffin pan and cake pans on a cookie sheet. This should help a little at least.

Okay today I bought a Wilton cookie sheet, Im guessing it is an insulated one. It is much heavier than the ones I currently have. I made the best LOOKING chocolate chip cookies today!! Oh and everyone said they tasted pretty good too. :) :)
