For Christmas, of course!
I need ideas for my husband. I have asked, but he always says I'll love what ever you get me. :headache:
Realistic ideas please! You can tell us all about the private jet and speed boat you have been dreaming of, but only if accompanied with a suggestion for something that will fit under the tree... or close to it!

I thank you, and on Christmas day, my husband will thank you too!:santa:

What type of hobbies does he have? What does he like to do?

Is he a baseball fan? If so, you could get him a World Series Championship hat, a World Series Championship t-shirt, a World Championship...oh wait, I'm sorry, the Rays didn't win.;) Aww, just kidding.

Books on his favorite pastimes-sports, hobbies, etc; tickets to a sporting event or upcoming concert; digital camera.

He loves golf, but until last year he was a golf pro, so he has everything, and I mean everything, in that department.

He plays basketball, and is our daughter's coach.

I have turned him into a Disney lover, but he wouldn't be caught dead in a Mickey shirt.:rotfl:

He loves Home Depot, but he usually gets 3 or 4 gift cards from family.
He loves the beach.

Master Mason, I know this probably doesn't help, but I am at a loss.

Ohhh, you are evil!!

He CAN read, but is not a reader.
The tickets are a good idea, the Super Bowl is going to be around here, but I'm sure I have no hope of scoring some of those.
Maybe just some regular Bucs tickets.

Every year, without fail, I give: beer, warm socks, big and ugly lumberjack-looking shirt with lining, whatever tool Black & Decker is pushing (this year it is a one-touch wrench), little pads to keep your hands warm inside your gloves/pockets when out in the cold, Uncle John's Bathroom Reader. There will be other stuff, but those are my "I need more boxes!" gifts.

That's the stuff DH really likes, anyway. Especially the beer.

I learned a looooong time ago that if the guy likes beer, it IS a good gift.

Well, I love to cook, so I asked for a 5.5Q le cruset dutch oven.

Usually though the things that mean the most to me really not big things, a framed picture of me and my boys, a keepsake book, honestly things that require more thought than money.

If a guy likes beer, buy him a beer making kit, not the little plastic kind, but a real kit.

DH is getting a Sirius Stiletto 2 and a new cell phone.

Every year he likes to get a new calendar for work and we wrap up a picture of the kids for his desk. Other than that, he will get stocking stuffers.

Some scratch off lottery tickets and a gift card are fine for me too. What I really like for Christmas is when my wife has on a nice dress and tall boots and we get to "celebrate the season.";)

My husband has to make me a list. Otherwise he'd end up with a whole lot of nothing. He has very specific things he likes(specific games, specific cd's, specific movies etc) so it would be too hard for me to shop for him without a list. The only other stuff that I really get him without the list are little stocking stuffers.

Well depending on your husband's personality...

With my husband, if he really wants something he buys it. That is usually computer stuff or tools that I know nothing about and wouldn't buy anyhow. So what I usually end up getting him is practical stuff that he wears out every year but doesn't replace because he doesn't care if he wears holey shirts. :rotfl: The poor man invariably gets socks, underwear, new shirts, shoes, etc. He jokes about it, but he is actually happy with it because it is stuff he can and will use. This year he got those thick base layer hiker/skier pants for under his uniforms, since he is in Iraq and will be freezing his bootay off soon.

I'm a nerdy man who loves electronic gizmo's and gadgets and anything to do with technology, so anything clothing or sports related is the absolute worst thing you could get me. Beer wouldn't put a smile on my face either. However, something like a home brewing kit might. And I don't mean a "Mr. Beer", I'm talking the real deal with big glass carboy fermentors and stuff, where you have to actually boil the wort and add the hops, not just add water to a powder and toss in some yeast. I'm a photography buff, so anything there would be great (a nice Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod, maybe that new Nikon SB800 speed light flash.) Seriously, think about his hobbies and what he might want for them. If it were me, I'd say avoid the typical standby, stereotypical male gifts - cologne, electric razor, shirt/tie, sports junk, etc. Not all of us men are sports loving, beer swilling dunder heads most TV sitcoms portray us to be.

Another vote for electonic toys! Does he have an ipod? Those can be relatively cheap these days. Also, if he has a music player and is using the little earbuds that come with the unit, buy him some better quality buds or headphones. How about an all-in-one remote control for the tv/vcr/dvd ?:santa:

neither would mine but the Grumpy shirt was a huge hit!

Well, I'm hoping Santa puts a 50" HDTV under my tree. ;) But more realistically I'd like something along the lines of:
1) an iTunes gift card
2) a new portrait of our kids (last one is 4 years old, and the kids have grown!)
3) a weekend getaway for just me and DW (can be done inexpensively; always a pleasure)
4) Barnes and Noble gift card

I got mine a Grill Daddy and meat thermometer thingy. He saw it on T.V. at the end of summer and said he wanted it, so I bookmarked the page and ordered it.

I'll get him some other things too, though. Not sure what right now.

A fella can dream can't he? :teeth:

One at a time or all together as a package?
