So after everyone has dined on the piggy you get to see a wedding?? Cool! I've never been to a wedding where you got fed before you had to sit thru the wedding itself!! :rotfl:

Are you taking bets on how long it lasts??

tara

Maybe everyone they asked thought 'your' was the correct word...at least they didn't say, "You'uns Invited"

If you are talking about the wedding, Im going to say not long. Seeing how the OP tells us shes a one upper and has to do everything first. She will probably need to be the first one seperated as well. You know how those types are. Its not enough to keep up with the Jones'....she needs to be Mrs. Jones herself.

Yes, you remember correctly. This is one of the competitive cousins on my fiance's side of the family who declared that she is "going to be married first!" The cousins compete over everything (Who has the nicest car, ring, house, etc, blah, blah, blah)

Are they going to compete for who gets divorced first?

Man this SoCA girl is glad she learned what a pig picking is today.

Here in MA/RI we call it a pig roast! They are the best part of summer. :teeth: As popular as they are, I can't say I have ever had one right before a wedding before. For that matter, I've never been to one after a wedding either.....

I can't say I've ever heard of a floating shower though.:confused3 . I learned something new tonight!

I have to ask-what is a "pig picking"? I grew up on a farm and that still sounds scary. :rotfl:

Thanks, I thought I was the only one in the dark about this.

I would expect that when someone sends a bridal shower/wedding invitation that they would spend a moment to proof read it. I misspell words all the time and I've made my share of spelling and grammar mistakes on the DIS, but come on!

This is a bridal shower and wedding invitation combo that I recieved in the mail today. I'm showing this EXACTLY as it was sent to me however, I've taken out the location info and last names.

Let me mention the mistake of also receiving this invite 2 DAYS before the event with no way to RSVP. Also the entire address was in undercase letters however most of the remainder of the information was in all CAPS. :confused3 Even worse, I just found out that the groom's name is spelled incorrectly. However, the bride has only known him for 5-6 weeks so I guess we can let it slide since she might not have the spelling down yet.

SUNDAY (Should be a comma here) AUGUST 2OTH (And here) 2006 AT 4:00 P.M.

A casual outdoor wedding is planned at 7934 ******* **** rd.

************, NC ***** Following a pig picking!

Explanations:
-It should be "You're invited"- contraction of you are- not "Your" possessive
-Fiancee refers to the female and fiance to the male
-His name is Gergory, not Greggory.
-You're to never put your registry information on any invitation. It should be passed by word of mouth.
-Rules of commas that apply here: Sunday, August 20, 2006, at 4:00PM
-The address wasn't capitalized; all she's left here is the wrongly capitalized Road for privacy.

The whole invitation was strange in my opinion. First of all you only received it two days prior to the event. Secondly, they included the places the happy bride is registered. (tacky) Last but not least, her spelling was atrocious.

You are correct, she should have had several people proof read the invitation.

So who is gonna invite me to a pig picking? Now that I know what one is, I want to go.

OP.....can you take me as your plus one to the party?
