Okay. I have a points to cruise Question....

DH and I are turning in our final paperwork on our BWV contract. We want to stay 2 days next June at BWV and then cruise on the 4 day Wonder when we check out. Here's the problem. We would be about 18 points short. Our UY is Dec. We have 26 points from '03 and the full 350 coming Dec 1, of this year. Now, am I correct in stating that I will not be allowed to borrow those 18 points from '05 until Dec 1 of this year?

I had thought about renting our room as soon as we get in the Disney system and calling back on Dec 1 to reserve our cruise for next June.

Can anyone tell me how much the points went up for the 4 day sailing June 16 in either a cat 10 or cat 11? Since we don't have our cards yet, we can't access the DVC member website.

I know a lot of people don't think it's a wise use of points to cruise on them but that's what we like to do.

You will be able to borrow December 2005 points as soon as you make the reservation. You borrow for the date you are going, not the date you make the reservation. So you can borrow those 2005 points for anytime between December 2004 and November 30.

I've always considered December points the hardest to follow.

Great! So if I call and make the room and cruise ressies, say, mid September, since I'm cruising June '04 I can make the full ressie by borrowing '05 points BECAUSE we'll be SAILING in '04. Did I interpret you correctly?

That's correct. Since the cruise dates you want are within your 2004 Use Year, you may borrow points from your 2005 Use Year when you make the reservation (even it's before your 2004 USe Year begins).

I think you mean to say you will be cruising and staying in June of 2005?

If so. Yes. Your December 2005 points can be borrowed into June of 2005. Your December 2004 points can be used through November of 2005 and any banked December 2003 points can be too.
