Okay, how crowded is October (Columbus Day Weekend)?

We are thinking of going back to the World during this week due to DD's Fall Break. Any experience out there with the crowd size?

We were there last year in October during the week leading up to Columbus Day weekend. We were there Saturday to Saturday, so we left on the Saturday of Columbus day weekend. The entire week, crowds were very managable. However, on our last day, we ventured over to MK for a last hurrah before heading out of town and the crowds were noticably larger. At about 10:30 am there was a 40 minute wait for Small World which had been a 5 minute wait the rest of the time we'd been there. I'm not sure if the other parks were less crowded but that Saturday, MK was a zoo. Hope that helps.

we were there for CD long weekend in 03
not bad at all
water parks were em pty
stay cleear of mk on CD
mnsshp was fun

We did AK (later in the day) on Columbus Day. We had PS at RFC. We did EMH at MK the Sunday prior, and ate at CRT. The Sat prior we did MK in the evening (after eating at CM). Crowds were a bit larger than 2002, but still manageable. This year we are going in Sept. I have heard that is less crowded, but we'll see.

We used to go all the time in October and it was never very crowded. Now, well, I'd say the crowds are pretty large compared to before. Crowds grow a lot over the three day weekend. The advent of school breaks in October have also increased crowds. Do not expect to just walk on rides over the three day weekend, and we have found the MK to be VERY crowded.

We were ther last year for the week starting CD weekend. That saturday afternoon in Fantasyland, the FP return line for Peter Pan stretched out to Cinderella's carosel! Just walking through Fantasyland was horrendous. However, that said, the rest of the parks weren't bad, especially after Monday passed. So, you'll probably bo fine, just plan your MK time carefully.

Thanks for the replys! I'm hoping that after CD Monday, it won't be that bad.

Hey, momx2, fellow Kentuckians (at heart, home currently in TN) will be there then also. My sis, WKU graduate in the group too.
Just wanted to say :wave2:
Have a great trip.
