Okay,fess up ,when do you start to pack?

ummm... since I made the ressies, about 425 days ago.

but seriously, I have a box (or 6) that have the stuff we are taking and won't need until we go (matching shirts, ponchos, fanny pack, back pack, Pal Mickey, treats and tink gifts etc...)
It is ready but not "packed" and I've already been putting away any summer stuff that we will need in Dec into the packing area (basement) to get ready to pack. I could almost pack tomorrow and be 3/4 of the way done.
I'll get serious about it about 2-3 weeks before and do that final wash the week of. This time, to avoid some stress of the last week, I just bought new socks for all and new undies and pj's for the girls. We all will need them anyway.

I do that every trip!! New socks & underwear for us all!! Easier that way!!

We pack the day before mostly. I do have a box in the closet that I throw things in as the trip nears; stain sticks, ponchos, clorox wipes, scissors,etc. The little stuff like that.

I keep several master lists going. 1 in the bathroom, 1 in my purse, 1 by the computer (to jot down great tips from the DIS!), 1 in my collection box to check things off. Packing the night before is simple with my lists.

It's so exciting to start packing! It makes it seem so much more real! This time packing seems like it'll be more challanging. We are flying, and we ususlly drive. So things like water bottles, and pillows (gotta have my own!) will be harder to pack. Can't wait to start!

Hey js...just noticed we're leaving at the same time! We'll be at POR from 10/17 - 10/21, then offstie until 10/28! Have a great time!!!

We're heading to WDW in 18 days. We drive down (from NW Florida) in our motorhome so somethings are always packed - for example, we all have toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels, etc. in the motorhome all the time.

We pack clothes and groceries. I started packing about two weeks ago. I packed clothes I won't need between now and then for me and my 9 year old son. My husband has done the same. My 16 year old son, however, will wait until the last possible moment!! Teenagers!!!

I've also started packing groceries. Each time I go grocery shopping I pick up a few things we'll need and pack them too (of course this applies to non-perishable items). Normally we already have a full fuel tank by now too, but we're gambling a bit this year and waiting and watching gas prices since they've been dropping in our area.

The nice thing about traveling in the motorhome is no suitcases. We just carry our clothes out and pack them in our closets and drawers, and reverse process when we get home.

18 Days til we're back at Fort Wildernss and WDW!

We don't leave until Friday night, and Dh is trying to make me pack today! I told him he could put his clothes, underwear, and toiletries in the suitcase and live out of it all week, but the kids and I are not.

I'll pack the majority Friday during the day, and the rest after we take our baths Friday evening (right before leaving). Of course, I'm getting out stuff that we don't use daily like the rain ponchos, my backpack purse, etc.

We leave in about two and a half weeks. I have pretty much finished my packing except for some last minute clothes.

It is an obsession.

DD3, has started a bag to take with her to the Mickey pool on the Magic. We don't leave for our cruise until 363 more days! I start packing two days ahead, but I admit all the real actions starts the afternoon before.

We leave Wednesday morning and I haven't started packing a thing yet. I will tomorrow morning though. I do have a list started of things to pack, but like I said, haven't done anything for it yet. I wanted to start today but couldn't get DH into the attic to pull down the suitcases.

We're 37 days away and I have a corner of my dresser stacked with trip things: Body Glide, Skin-so-Soft Bug Spray, sunblock, etc. etc.

Now I've had our trip clothes hanging in my side of the closet for .... uh ... a few months, LOL!! I hid my dh's stuff in there so he can't wear it and stain it or rip it before going -- he has a knack for wrecking his good clothes, so if I want it for the trip, I have to stash it!

Well, I'm at the 38 day day mark and I'm already throwing stuff on a small table in our spare bedroom. I find when I think of something I get it right away and put it there. That way I don't forget.
I also make a list of clothes to take.

There are some things I never UNpack from the previous WDW trip! Things that we only use for WDW...I just leave 'em in the special "Disney Luggage"!

I normally pack the night before, or the day of, depending on when we leave. However, this trip, I will need to pack this coming weekend as I am working such long hours (extra spending money weeeeeee). It is going to feel strange, and I am sure I will want to continually check the luggage to maek sure I have everything

Oh man, I feel better knowing that I'm not the only person that waits until the last minute. I usually pack the day we leave, usually an hour or two before we (myself, DH and 3 boys 9, 4 and 1) leave. I make a list of what I need to buy the night before we leave, head to the store in the morning, then pack in the afternoon. I'm sure my DH would like to kill me for waiting so long, BUT it helps those last few hours of waiting go by sooo fast .

I think we are at the 36 day mark today and I am almost completely packed. I think I started 3 weeks ago. LOL
I am a procrastinator, always waiting until the last possible second, except when it comes to Disney.
I will still do my micro managing, I mean packing and repacking LOL, until we leave for the airport.

I already started preparing the master packing list. I print out the ultimate packing list I found the link for her on the DIS boards. Then I tweek it according to our needs.


Tha actual pack starts about a week before. I work and DD has a busy schedule too, so getign everything washed etc. This way I have a better chanve on not forgetting things.

I have to stop typing so fast or spell check!

I re-tought this statement and relized, that sinceI am going for C-Mas and leaving DEc 19th, I will have to ship some items, i.e. table top tree, some clothes, gifts, etc, so I will pack those things at least 2 weeks ahead of time b/c they need to be shipped a week ahead of time.

Oh my gosh! I don't know how some of you wait until the night before! Maybe if it was just me and my dh I could do that. I'm packing right now and we leave on the 30th. But, we have 3 kids and will be there for 11 days. The packing is overwhelming to me right now! Luckily it's getting cool here so I can just go ahead and pack the summer clothes for Disney!

I think gender makes all the difference on this. Example:

Me ( single father ) and daughter, 13, will start getting things together a couple of days before hand and put it all in our suitcases the night before we leave. Will forget half of what we need and just buy it when we get to my mom's in Bradenton before we go to WDW. Max..2 suitcases. Buy a third suitcase when we are down there to bring back everything that we bought, because we forgot it.

Girlfriend ( single mother ), daughter 12. Going to be at WDW sametime as us, but we are not going together. Started shopping the summer close out sales for new clothes on day 210. Will start packing the day after Christmas for April trip. Minimum 5 suitcases for trip. Will have to buy another suitcase to bring home all the new things bought on trip. Will make me buy a 4th suitcase to bring back more things that she buys.

Got to love her!

I leave on month from today! So far, I have managed to resist the urge to start bringing up suitcases. But I keep thinking that I need to see what I can fit into which bag, and how much they will weigh. So I'm sure before the week is out I will have started packing.

I'm not counting the bag of new stuff in my closet. That was shopping, not packing!
