I've been lurking here for a while now and just seem to tred water with my weight. I've sort of invented my own diet. Giving up potatoes (cry) and all sweets (candy). I can't do diet sodas and that type of stuff because I get extremely sick from Neutra Sweet and aspratame. I don't get second and Dh cleans up the table and dinner dishes so I don't eat extra. Hears where I need help I use my eliptcal 10-15 min a day (I may miss 1 day) and that is working but I can't get rid of the "love handles" and the extra above my butt. Is there anything that can help me?
thank you

Welcome to WISH

WISH = We're Inspired to Stay Healthy!

There are just about as many different programs as there are WISHers! BUT -- we all have the same end goal -- to lose weight and become healthier inside and out! Becoming healthy on the outside takes becoming a better person on the inside -- and THAT is what WISH has done for ME!

It's great to have you join us!

Have you ever tried Diet Rite soda? It is sweetened with Splenda.

Hi tiggereyore! Welcome to WISH. I'm really glad you decided to join us.

I don't know know if it is possible to "spot" reduce. At least, I have never been successful at doing that.

Will you be taking the WISH challenge? We would love to have you be a part of our support group. The support group is composed of men and women following all different types of eating plans. Some of us have just a little weight to lose and some of us have a lot of weight to lose (like me) but we all face the same challenges and understand each other very well.

WISH is a very helpful place, I think you would like it here. If you decide the challenge, will you post to the Challenge thread? You will find it right HERE. I make up our member roster and use that thread to make sure I don't miss anyone, it would help me if you would post there :)

You might want to increase your time on the elliptical trainer, perhaps have two sessions everyday? That might help you lose more quickly.

Hello and welcome!

Sounds like you need some patience pixie dust! (hee hee, I think we all do when it comes to seeing results!)

You are doing all the right things, so don't worry, the love handles will disappear over time. Just keep eating healthy and working out, maybe up your time on the elliptical by a minute a week until you get to 30 minutes a day.

Check in here often, read the posts to stay motivated and share your good news with us!!!

Welcome to the WISH Board, Tiggereyore!! We are glad to have you here!! :) You will find lots of support and encouragement on this board, so grab a clippie and jump right in!! :)

Thank you for the warm welcome. I've been doing the elipticalfor 10 in the morning (these are the hardest to get but I feel great after) and 10-15 after the 2 boys go to bed sometimes I can make it longer but then I fall into bed and don't get anycleaning done need to rethink the nighttime routine). When I first started back in Feb I had lost inches but no pounds. I got frustrated and quit using it so much and guess what those inches found their was back. But I was still eating the same and lost a couple of pounds. I would really like to look like my old self and have the energy I had before the Boys.
Well my goal is 35-40 by christmas and I love to have 15 of it gone by August. So I'm taking the challenge and i'll need the support. I hate water but know that it's important to be drinking it.
Thank you again!

BTW does anyone know how many calories are burned pitchin' hay? Sounds strange but I've got 1000 bales to put in by the end of june and just wondering if its going to help any? (it does help the flabby upper arms I know)
