I have been hovering around the 20 pound mark for about 3 weeks now. Can't seem to get over that last pound. I gain a pound and a half, then lose 2 pounds but can't get below that 222 mark (221 is my 20 pound mark). I am still doing induction and have been strict about it. I've tried eating 15 carbs, even 10 carbs a day and it doesn't seem to be making any difference at all. I just hover between 224 and 222.

Any ideas???????? Anyone ever had this problem? Funny enough, dh is having the exact same problem. What are we doing wrong???

thanks

Are you eating Atkins bars? Some people are having problems when they eat them. Also, sometimes adding more fat to your diet can help. Eat things with mayo for a few days...chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, devilled eggs, etc. if you don't already do so.

Keep at it. Sometimes you go through a week or two without a loss and then it happens! Good luck!

You may not be doing anything wrong at all. :) Are you getting enough calories?

I started using fitday.com the first of September to record all of my food and track my weight. I lost 4 lbs in 3 days around the first of the month. I then went 12 days going up and down 1/2 lb every day. I was doing everything right as far as I could tell. Finally, yesterday I was down a full lb, back to where I was 12 days ago. Today I lost 2 lbs. :)

I haven't been recording it long enough to be sure, but I seem to have a pattern of losing a lot in a few days and then not losing much for about 2 weeks. Maybe you are like that as well. :)

I just try to be patient. I know I am eating better and eventually it will show. :)

Don't forget to drink water!!! Get those 64 oz. in a day even if you feel like you're going to float away.

Sometimes you have to go up to your critical carb level in order to see a loss. Strange how that works.

Best of luck,
Adele

Another trick to nudge you over into more weight loss is adding more carbs. Have more veggies or an extra salad. Try as much as 30 carbs for a few days. I find that I have to change what I'm doing on a regular basis - my body gets stuck in a rut very easily so I'm always figuring new twists to my Atkins.

I went through a few "stalls" myself, and to be honest, all sorts of different things can "bump" you into loss again. Just keep varying things til you see the results!

:)

Now, see...if you had measured yourself when you began you might be seeing the inches disappear instead of pounds. Have you measured yourself?

I've been stalled since late August, too - stuck right at 205-206 pounds, and I can't wait to get into one-derland! I have been following the Atkins plan, still in induction. I think its related to water weight and TOM (which is VERY erratic for me as I am pre-menopausal). Can't wait for the whoosh, which I KNOW will arrive. I had a real long stall around 30 pounds, too (40 pounds ago).

Stay encouraged!
