...besides tennis shoes, what kind of shoes would you wear to the parks??? I'd love to take some cute sandals to wear in the evenings to the parks and to dinner (figuring I won't be walking as much as I would during the day).
Am I crazy???

You aren't crazy :) I pack a pair of nice sandals to wear in the evening as well. I'm not much of a sneaker kind of girl...but they are the most comfy so I just suck it up and wear them in the parks.

They aren't the cutest sandals, but I always bring my Danskos, because they are soooo comfy.

I too am not much of a sneaker gal... I have a very comfortable pair of black sandals they are made by sketchers... I didn't pay to much for them but I have even used them during the day walking through the parks. Or if you have a bag or stroller were your comfy's and then carry your cute strapy's.

Sneakers can be comfy, but man, in the summer ,thay can also be HOT. And if you get (like on Kali River Rapoids, which my 7 yr old loves beyond all reason), there are few things grosser than going squish-squish-squish around the park for the rest of the day! Personally, for our summer trips, I always wear Tevas. And I agree too that a pair of sandals, being thin and flat, are easy to stash in a backpack! Just don't choose anything so out of character that you end up on Zurg's "BADSHOE" pics!

When we hit the parks last summer, I wore these really comfy & cute flat sandals I found at Payless! They only cost $9.99 and the straps were elastic. At first, I thought I would be insane to wear them but they were terrific. And we walked ALOT!! Even at night.

If you have a backpack, it wouldn't hurt to take another pr of shoes w/you just in case you run into unexpected transportation problems or longer than expected lines.

Funny how many Mom's have looked at this posting. I guess there are lots of us that think we're stylish! I like my Doc Martin sandals, although they get a bit heavy. I would absolutely bring a pair of sandals though .. I usually bring a dressier pair for Downtown Disney or Pleasure Island (flip flops).. maybe the water parks. If I'm back at the parks at night, I'll wear sandals. Places I know that I won't be walking as much. However, for those long stretches, I'll wear my tennis shoes.

akline, lol about your comment about us stylish moms... but truth be told I looked at the post thinking stylish moms could help me but I am a shoe nut so I could help. :smooth:

I have some thong sandals that are so much more comfortable than sneakers. The brand name is Prima Royale (I bought mine at Rich's) and I call them my Disney shoes because I can walk around the parks all day without getting sore feet. I can't wear sneakers for an extended period of time, my feet get too cramped.

My sister went with us on our last trip and she couldn't believe I was actually going to the parks in those shoes because she hates thongs. It was a good thing I brought 2 pair, though, because by the 2nd day she was wearing them as well. Every morning before we left for the parks, my sister and I would be in the bathroom arguing over which color went better with our respective outfits! I think I'm going out today to try to find another pair or 2 for our upcoming trip.

changed my subject line to include shoe lovers too!!! LOL

i love my tevas ::yes::

i got my first pair last summer and i'm a convert now!

I have some Mootsie Tootsie elastic and leather sandals that I wore alot at WDw.

They're those one you saw everybody and their grandma wearing. Very comfy!

I always bring several pair of sneakers and sandals to wear with different outfits. At night I usually always wear a pair of sandals or slingbacks. We usually don't walk around at night as much and I like to wear something besides sneakers since I'm also usually dressed nicer in capri's or a skirt.

I got a pair of Sketchers for our trip last July. They had a cooling pad (I can't remember what they called it) inside and they worked great. I also wear Berkenstocks. We usually go in the summer, but since we are leaving next week, I'm actually taking my Nikes for the first time. I just can't wear them in the heat of summer, it has to be sandals, even if they are kinda ugly, lol.

I always wear my Avia's. Every time I've attempted sandals, I've ended up with blisters. I may try some of the brands that have been mentioned here!

Well I'd like to think I'm a hot mama, and I know many other hot mamas here!!! Personally, I absolutely love my J.Crew wedge flip flops. I have them in like 3 different colors. They're comfy and stylish. At the World I also wore Diesel sneaker slip ons (ones that look like sneakers, but without the backs). Those were great, and don't get as hot as regular sneakers. Skechers are good too, and they have several styles of the slip on sneakers. HOpe you find what you're looking for!

I bring 2 pairs of walking sneakers, pool flops and my open toe Clarks mule style sandals. They are like a massage for my feet! It's nice to let my little dogs air after a long day in a park confined in my sneakers.

I really don't like sneakers in the summer! YUCK! I wear my Lands End Summer Athletic Slides. I LOVE them! I need to order a new pair (or look in Sears to see if they carry them) because my old ones are disgusting! But they are the most comfortable sandal I've ever worn!:)
