Ok, what I understand about quests...

Yes, I had the voucher that someone from Dis sent me. The fine print says you can redeem a voucher every 30 days and it is good for up to four people. I was hoping to use it to take some family on the tour this weekend without all of us having to do the quests first, since the quest prizes are not really that different. The people at the VMK booth said that it is now every 90 days and not the 30 days printed on the voucher, AND it is only good for two people, NOT the 4 people printed on the voucher. I didn't argue with them, but tried to get clarification on when this went into effect. I managed to irk the tour guide who was getting ready for the next VMK tour, into a rant about how the people have abused the quests and the tours etc. etc.

So, just be warned. They will only allow 2 people per voucher and you can only do the quests, and tours every 90 days and this is retroactive to Aug. 1st. (we last did the tour on Aug 14th and therefore will not be eligible to redeem a Tour voucher or go on the tour from doing the 4 quests until Nov. 14th)

Ok, I have a question. How do they know you have been in the last 90 days?
I know some people have annual passes or multi-day passes, so they would have the same number on them. But if you buy passes with only 1 day or a couple of days on them, they would have different numbers, right? How would the park know?

Now, don't anyone jump on me about going too many times, I can only afford to go once every year or two then only for a day or two.

What I'm actually wondering about it "How do they track you in the park?"

Some said they didn't check ID, or write your name down, so if they are going by ticket numbers you could buy single tickets and go many times and they wouldn't know it or do they have a special creepy way to track people in the park?

they only track by you ticket media they do not write down your name.

You can also from what I understand have you AP replaced( if damaged or lost) and in theory can redo the tour.

This is true, they track you by your ticket media. In theory if you have different tickets, you should be able to do the quests and tour again.
However, here is what I discovered at Disneyland. If your ticket media has your name on it in any form; for example I bought Costco tickets. Costco gives you a ticket you must redeem at the ticket booth to get your true ticket. They take your name and address and put your name on the ticket (they are 'non transferable' and they can check id at their descretion) I later got an AP. I found out that my visits with my Costco ticket and my visits with my AP were linked. (I saw it on the conputer screen)

Also, I believe it was Bob Richmond (or maybe RanierEars?) that said that a tour guide recognized him and refused to let him on the tour again. I don't know for sure. Maybe he will post again.

They do write your name down in a log book! I have no idea though if someone thought they recognized you - if they would refer to that. I know the actual tracking part is done by pass or media ticket.

Califgirl.......you big trouble maker!!! lol

I was there Friday with some neighbors and turned in quest cards and now they give the tour card and mark a 1 in the number of people allowed on the tour. So I redeemed 4 tickets with quest cards and got 4 tour cards each allowing 1 person per card. She told me that is how they are doing it now.

Hi!
I am also a Disneyland Pass Holder and we are planning on heading down to spend Thanksgiving week with Mickey. Now besides quests are there other ways to earn VMK prizes? I know about the gold Mickey ears. What other things/or shops should I be looking at for more prizes? :earboy2:
Also...do you know if they are still giving the Haunted mansion room away as a quest prize?
Thanks so much for all of your help. :flower:

Oh no! It was all my fault! :rotfl2:
They won't even let you take one guest? Wow that is amazing.

Princess Donna, To get the gold ears you must buy a hat at the mad hatters shop, to get the penny presss card you must buy something at PoohCorner candy shop, to get the magic mirror you must buy something at the magic shop. To get the t-shirt card you must buy a t-shirt at Star Traders (sometimes you can buy anything, but some CM's tell me it must be a shirt)
To get the card for the pin you must buy a pin at the BuzzLightyear shop.

I'm terrible with the store names, but there is a sticky at the top of this forum that has all that info.

Just wanted to add...you only need one set of quest cards per 4 people (not one set per person).

Just wanted to let you know. :flower:

Is there a Quest FAQ somewhere? I'm a bit confused :(. I'll be at DL at the end of the week, so I'm working on getting un-confused, LOL!

oh sorry if I made it sound that way. We only had 1 set of quest cards & TL paper, and all 4 got their cards & 1 tour card each.

My most recent experience was at WDW near the end of August, so this answer is based on that. It is subject to change at any time, with no notice, and with little or no reason also. :) Also at WDW the quests and coupon redemption is monitored by pass whereas the tour is not.

At WDW they monitor your quests and coupon redemptions strictly by pass number. Whether your name is on the passes (mine was) or not does not matter. The tour is strictly based on your name and if the guides remember you.

I also have read the message of another poster here that did multiple quests / coupons / tours in a very short time recently using different passes each time.

Before I go into the details I would like to acknowledge that I do from time to time gently push the "rules" at WDW to see how they are monitored and enforced.

I did a tour on August 8th using a tour card I received from quests redeemed that morning using my AP. Later that day I had to have my AP replaced because of a worn stripe. I wanted to see if I could redeem another set of quests using the new card and had no problem doing so. Using the new tour card received I signed up for a tour the next day. When I was in line for that tour it was mentioned to the guide that I had done the tour the previous day. He must have misunderstood the mention however and actually accused the lady in line in front of me of doing the tour twice. He was handling the situation VERY BADLY, so excused himself and a new guide was brought in. Nothing was said to me or anyone else once the new guide arrived.

August 22 was the start of my renewed AP so I used it to redeem another set of quests / coupons and signed up for the tour that afternoon. The tour guide for this tour was the one who excused himself on the last tour. He handled the situation a lot more professionally this time while refusing to let me take the tour. I thanked him for the way he handled this situation and left the park.

According to the new terms and conditions at WDW,the VIP tour card you get from the quests or coupon is only good for 2 guests every 90 days.

I was only referring to the quest cards, not the tour cards. :) I just wanted her to know that each individual did not need to do each quest card.

Thanks everyone for providing information about the tour. :)

You can use the same set of quest brochures for as many people as you want and as many times as you want until the brochures are changed.
