:sad2:I just can't seem to find any good deals on rental cars for June I only need it for 3 days and I can't get lower than 250.00 for economy car?

have you tried online coupons? i usually find good ones on retailmenot.com.

good luck!

I will try that now I have already tried all the ones listed on here and nothing good so far thanks

I just rented from Alamo for a day, a full size, and used a discount off their website. and put in my AAA number as well. They also take coupons from BJ's. Costco, etc... I have a BJ's number but my rental wasn't long enough to use it. The 24 hours cost me a grand total of $52 and change. I'm sure with one of their coupon codes, AAA, etc... you can likely get a better price. Also check Mousesavers.com for codes for rental cars. She gives a lot of money saving tips there as well as lists the available codes she knows of. Good luck! PS: It's for early June....

You're going to pay the daily rate for 3 days unless it's a weekend rental. And for a weekend rental, you have to pick up on a Thursday in order to get the weekend rate.

If you are renting over a weekend AND you are picking up on a Thurs., then check to see if your pick up and drop off times are at least 72 hours apart. Anything less than that and you could end up paying for two daily rates plus the hourly rate for the extra hours.

Don't add their insurance unless your own insurance policy won't cover you. Even if your drivers' insurance doesn't cover you, your credit card or other membership could.

Don't pre-pay for gasoline. Paying them to fill the tank is convenient but really pricey.

And if all else fails, try hotwire or priceline to name your own price.

I found in late January, I didn't start seeing really good rates until 2-3 weeks before we needed the car.

Which three days? And what time do you plan to pick it up and return it? Also, are you able to rent for a longer period? (That seems counterintuitive, but sometimes it is a much better deal, depending on what days are involved.)

The price you have seems high even for a daily rate, so there is something odd affecting it; we won't be able to help much unless we know what that is.

Rates are going to be crazy high for the next few months. The terrible storms in the south have caused rental cars to be unavailable from Tennessee through Alabama. You know they'll be moving them in from Florida now that the spring season is nearly over.

There was so much hail damage in our area that the repair shops are predicting they'll still be making repairs at Christmas. I heard of one friend who was number 21 on a waiting list for a rental car at Enterprise.

Also, join the car rental frequent renter programs. Most are free and you have access to higher value discount codes.
I second the Mousesavers link, very good information.
Keep checking your rates. We leave on Thursday and in the last three weeks my rental dropped $85.00. Good luck!

Added details may help some of us guide you. Is this rental for Orlando or where? How many people? Your return time is a problem for some locations as not all are 24 hours. If you give some more details there are many who should be able to help.

I checked priceline.com for a ten day rental, standard for 21 dollars a day for ten days...I have never used priceline before anyone have any suggestions on using them?

I got $23 per day, for a total of $93.92 with all taxes, June 1st thru 4th. I just plugged in these dates in Travelocity, pick up at Orlando International and that's are the prices I got.

These are the daily rates listed:

Payless $23
Thrifty $38
Dollar $41
Advantage $42
Enterprise $43
Budget $55
EZ $58
Alamo $66

Your weekend & weekly coupons normally require a 'Saturday Night Keep'. Your dates are coming up with returning on Saturday evening, so you won't be eligible for the weekend rate and you also aren't keeping long enough to get a weekly rate. Nat'l was coming up at $300 without taxes. However, rates drop continually. If you see a good rate, book it - you can cancel later.
