OK..We're Finally REALLY going to do it!

After countless wonderful, amazing trips to WDW (about 18 trips over last 15 years)....we've vowed that we are finally going to do it!....We are going to spend 6 days in Orlando/Lake Buena Vista and do all the things that Orlando has always seemed to offer, but we've never done....never had the "will power" to pull ourselves away from WDW and do oither stuf.

Problem is, we can't remember or think of what all that other stuff to do is. Outside of Sea Worlfd, Universal, Discovery Cove...what should we consider?

So.......and ideas you'd like to pass along would be greatly appreciated.

We'll be in a Residence in near Sea World, not the one on I-Drive. We're a party of three...Mom, Dad and LARGE teenage son.

Thanks!

you have to do the Go-Carts on I drive it has a 3 story sprial .

Old-Town is nice as well

Have you thought of Kennedy Space Center? It sounds very cool.

I've seen the Go-Karts...that's a great one. Thta goes on the list. The Space Center would be great too. That's probably, what, a one hour drive?

Also: Tell me more about old town.

Thanks

I'm not sure, but I think it's about an hour. They've got a wonderful website.

Check out http://www.goorlandocard.com/ .

They have a discounted card that offers unlimited admissions to the participating attractions for the number of days purchased. You do not need to use the days on consecutive days but they do expire 14 days after their first day of use. They come in 1-, 2-, 3-, 5- and 7-day icrements. One dinner at Pirate's Dinner Adventure or Arabian Nights is included with each 3-, 5- or 7-day pass.

Among the participating attractions are:
  • Kennedy Space Center
  • Cypress Gardens
  • Gatorland
  • Fun Spot Action Park (on I-Drive)
  • Wonderworks
  • Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum
  • lots more
It might be worth getting if you plan to do a lot in Orlando and the surrounding area.

Thanks for all the great ideas....please keep 'em comoin'

Thanks,

Well if you want a quiet day---and to get a little disney "fix", you can always go walk around downtown celebration (although Disney doesn't own it anymore), check out the shops, have some ice cream, or lunch (several restaurants, my fav is the tavern---karoke there every Friday night as well, teens welcome). There is also a 2 screen movie theater.

We have planned an airboat ride when we visit in May - haven't done this before, but it sounds like fun. There are several companies in the area that provide them.

Daytona or Coco Beach?? Both about an hour from Orlando I believe.
Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay.

You can go to Gatorland if you've never seen gators before....its pretty neat. Ummmm there is also a place called Midway Magic on I-drive that if you pay like 25 bucks, for three hours you get to ride go-karts and rides as many times as you want. They also have an arcade that your teenager can play in.

- Wet n Wild
- Millenia Mall
- Orlando Science center
- Skull Kingdom

Thats all I can think of.
