We're going to be flying out of MCI and for our end of April trip, I'm looking at over $288 a person for SW and $208 with Delta, etc. SW is the only non-stop airline out of here and the $288 is the one-way fare, which is, believe it or not, cheaper than any other. With the prices, you'd think this was backwater country or something! I've seen people flying from great distances getting better fares. And we spent about $135 for our October 2003 trip. It's really frustrating!!!!!! Still waiting on a sale to come along though.
Just bought my tickets for my trip in May. Independence Air for $116 rt, non-stop out of Wash. DC to MCO. Travel was good until June. Pretty good for spring.
I feel your pain....We fly out of MSP and it is very rare that we get deals like we used to. I just paid $245 for our March tickets. I feel this is expensive as we travelled for alot less in the past years. Northwest is the king at our airport so it is unlikely we will ever get some of those low fare companies like Southwest.
