well, now that the cku stamford room frenzy has passed, I have some more questions for y'all. What does one bring to cku? Do you bring all your scrapping stuff for the crops or are you too busy chatting with everyone? maggie

If you're like me I do more talking than actual scrappin. I learned my lesson at CKU-NE in 2002, I brought lots of stuff and didn't do a PAGE

I did finish some of the class projects. Hope that helps.

My suggestion is not to bother bringing anything from home to work on at the crops once CKU starts. If you really want to work on anything, you can finish projects from your classes. But from what I've seen most people don't bother to do any scarpping during the crops. At the campus crop everyone is busy checking out all the dorms and layout entries. There are also lots of sponsor contests going on during the campus crop, many of which require participation not just a name drawn "out of the hat".

If you go to the earlybird crop you will need something to work on as this, from what I've heard cuz I've never even looked in on it, is just a space for anyone that's come in the day before CKU to spread out and work on their scrapping projects.

Some people did work on stuff at the celebrity crop and the commencement crop, but most either just stood around talking or went off to do other stuff.

You really won't have time to crop! If you are in a dorm, it will consume all your free time and you may barely have time to eat
(sounds bad...but lots of fun!) Just bring the minimum requirements for classes and your dorm ..oh and bring an empty suitcase...you will need it for the goodies and any shopping you may do. Most important...bring a good attitude and an adventurous spirit! LOL

Maggie, CKU sends out an email with a list of necessary supplies for all classes. There is also usually a follow up email for supplies only needed for specific classes (I took a class that needed an xacto knife). Also at registration you receive a hard sided cropper-hopper case that is full of adhesives (all different kinds) and other goodies.

Knowing all of us, we won't be cropping at the crops - just chatting! (except maybe the early-bird). Also - a lot of swaps meet during the crops.
