Ok, so maybe not Daytona....

But maybe another beach area by the ocean? We were thinking Daytona because of how close it is to Orlando (easy drive)...But all that we are finding are hotels that have a maximum of two people and if you have a family of 5 you are kind of out of luck...
Any recommendations for another area?
 
If you wanted by the gulf, I'd have bunch of places to recommend.

Did you try Brunswick or Jeckyll Island, Georgia? I've heard raves about both places...

never heard of those places...we would want to stay in florida w/o 1 hour to 2 hours drive of Orlando as we would be flying out of Orlando (we'll be staying in Orlando from 8/25-9/1, planned on doing a beachy thing for a couple of days)
 
St Augustine (2 hours away)

Cocoa Beach (1+ hour away)

New Smyrna Beach (just south of Daytona)
