OK...so I am watching Food TV Network

and they have the Unwrapped episode about wacky colors on normal products. Like neon pink butter, purple ketchup, etc. And they have a segment on flavored applesauce, including berry blue, Blue's Clues applesauce. Now, I don't know how many parents have fed their young children (still diaper age) this applesauce, but all I could remember was the first time I did.

DD's poop was neon green (like nuclear, glow in the dark green) the next day. Scared the ever living daylights out of me the first time. Did the same to my day care provider untilI explained what it was. I have a master's degree, and I seriously thought my DD's insides had gone nuclear after seeing the diaper result!

I will never look at applesauce the same again! And I still cannot handle the neon pink or blue butter (and I have tasted it; it tastes like butter); the color offends me!

Maybe I should find a new channel!

I remember when DS was about 7 or 8 and green ketchup was the rage. DS decided he wanted to help with dinner, so I told him how to make baked beans. He used the green ketchup. I thought it would mix in and not be noticeable. Nope. The beans were a shade I would describe as olive drab or army fatigue green. DH would nt eat them, and of course DS thought they were great and always wanted to prepare the beans that way. Boy, was I ever glad when green ketchup was "no longer available"

I remember feeding my daughter Fruity Pebbles, and they turned her diaper contents the same neon green shade!

The Food Network is awesome - don't find another channel .

I agree that most of these foods are nasty. My friend gave her boys green ketchup and their poop turned green. Needless to say, she threw the ketchup away and she has never bought it since. Because of this story......I never bought it all .

For me it was the Trix yogurt in "new neon spring colors". I even called the company and told them my DS loved the yogurt but it stained his but blue. We both had a bit of a chuckle and she sent me coupons for more yogurt. Funny I don't think they have altered the dry from the original since then.

I would NEVER purchase GREEN (or purple) ketchup - that's just WRONG! (I too watched Unwrapped last night - NOTHING else was on)

I dunno...maybe i'm old school...but I just find it not right. I know that it's just a color and that there are no additives in there...but there's a poor boy out there with a blue bum after eating yogurt? c'mon! hehehe
