We're planning on doing a quick 4day/3 night trip the beginning of Oct. With a seasonal pass discount POFQ is only $82.00 more than ASMu, so I'm leaning to POFQ. DH is a little more hesitant about spending the money to stay onsite in a small room (we usually get a large suite off-property)

What should I tell him to convince him? He keeps asking me whats the benefit of staying onsite and I keep telling him "The Magic" and it's close, but I'm not sure that's cutting it! LOL I know he won't be thrilled to hear there is no coffee maker, I can tell you that for sure!

How long do you think it takes to drive to the parks from POFQ? How long for the buses?

Well I dont know about the rooms at POFQ, but the rooms at POR are ok but nothing fancy. If hes used to suites, he wont be impressed. But there really are no words to describe the feelings you get when you are staying on site!! It is a much faster ride to any of the parks. Both of the PO's are very pretty. Beautiful grounds to walk around. My husband really liked POR.

My husband and I stayed at POFQ for our honeymoon and loved it!!!!!! It was perfect - so much so that we convinced the couple we are traveling with to stay there this year. We stayed at CBR and were not impressed (compared it to the FQ all week long).

My fiance' and I stayed at POFQ last month over the 4th of July week. POFQ is the smallest Disney resort and lends itself to a relaxing atmoshere. I can say I was impressed with the room, it was small compared to a suite but cozy. If your DH is used to suites and having coffee makers in the room, then he might not be thrilled with POFQ.

We used the Disney bus transportation from the resort to the theme parks and Downtown Disney. The buses come around every 15-20 mins and we had no problems with the system. I'd say it's a 9 minute drive to MK. (I timed it one morning!) Epcot is the closest park to POFQ so you can get there in no time using the bus. Another advantage to staying on-site is you can have your souviners delivered back to your resort's gift shop! I used this service and it was wonderful! My packages were wrapped and never damaged or lost.:)

Feel free to ask any questions!:)

You can get a refillable mug and go down to the food court for coffee each morning. My dh loved getting a big mug instead of a little cup.

the theme can't be beat. The path ways around the resort look like streets with lamps and street signs, jazz music piped in, small size so not a trek in the morning to get the coffee. Great water slide in the pool for your little one, and the boat to DD is great.
Also ask about a coffee maker in the room. I know the deluxes have them it can't hurt. Just bring your coffee from home because it is very expensive on site.
It definately reminded me of a quaint New Orleans town. So relaxing!!

Ask for a coffee pot! We always do! Bring your own coffee and creamer/sugar though. Coffee pots are free, just request one when you check in! We love FQ. Very quaint and pretty.

I have almost the same problem as the original poster.
We have the Dolphin ($154/night = $170.20 with tax)
for Easter week next year.

We stayed in the Dolphin this past June. My DH fell in love
with the place....reason it was picked for Easter, 2003.

My DS & DD just want a water side.
I thought POR or POFQ would be a great moderate.
My DH does not want to stay anywhere else :( , just the Dolphin.

Has anyone ever gotten a great rate (around $100) during
a holiday (Easter) for the POR or POFQ ?
Maybe if we save $50 a night (a meal) my DH will consider
moving to a new resort. ;)

We are DC and AAA members - and we have AP tickets.

Aren't our DH sometimes stubborn (no offense guys) ?
Thanks :)

Using the codes on mousesavers, I got POFQ for $85 per night + tax during the peak Christmas week.

Do you know how that compares to an annual pass discount rate? Are the codes cheaper?
