Ok Now I'm really confused..Where should we stay???

Hi,
I have reserved some rooms at the Doubletree Guest Suites for our trip. I have read enough to know this place doesn't sound that nice. My problem is I'm making the plans for at least three large families. So I really want it to be nice(but priced within reason) What we have is a family of eight, a faimily of six and a family of five. I know we need at least a one bed room with lots of opions of beds. We can double and tripple up if we need to. We want something close with shuttle to most of the attractions, but our main thing is a nice pool with maybe some kinda pool bar, food drinks that kind of thing. At one point Grandma (thats me) will have all the kids with her while the parents spend a day enjoying the sites...I suggested this. But It would really help to be at the pool most of the time.....So please can all of you wondeful people help me????

Have you tried Hotelkingdom.com? They have some really good rates at properties in every range of niceness. Also flhotels.com, or orlando-hotels-discounts.com would be good places to start. If you would tell us what price range you are looking at, it would help in a more specific answer.

Also, do you want single rooms or multiple rooms per family--there is a wide variation in the definition of a suite. It may pay for you to share a couple of villa type things or look into a vacation home rental--all of those options usually have full kitchens too and with that many kids included it would save you a fortune on food!

I think your best bet is a house rental or a 3 br condo rental.

I can also recommend the Marriott Residence Inn LBV or the location at SW.

Both are new hotels and have 2 br units with a bed mix of 2 queens, l king, and l pullout with 2 bathrooms and full kitchen. the brs are separated by the lr area.

Also, the Summerfields Suites by Wyndham and Hawthorn Suites also have similar type 2 br units.

All are on Palm Parkways near dt disney, about l0 minutes to parks. A nice ara of Orlando to be in.

FYI, a l bedroom unit at most of the hotels in Orlando is going to only have a king in the br and a pullout in the lr area. Some of the pullouts are not so comfy.

What are the ages of the people in the families? That might help. For instance, if there are lots of babies, you won't need as many beds.

What?!? Are you nuts?!? You're a very nice Grandma to do that. I think you'll need that pool bar .

All of our kids will need a bed except the baby, She will sleep with Mom and Dad. The rest are let me see, we have one 3 year old, one five year old, one six year old, one eight year old, five eleven year olds, and one fifteen year old girl...she is my biggest helper, thats why I have suggested we keep them for a whole day. She will be with me to help.
Our price range is around $150.00 to $175.00 a nite. We don't want to all stay in the same place, like a home or Condo. We all need to have our own rooms. We want something with a really nice Pool. We won't have a car so we need a shuttle from the Hotel too.
In one of the replys you suggest the Marriott,what does LBV stand for. The Residence inn sounds great, would you know how the pool is. Do they have a shuttle?

OK ... you have 19 people, 8 adults and 11 children. One of those children is under 3, so you'll need bedding for 18 people. Your budget is $450 - $525 per night for all of you.

Here's something radical . How about 6 rooms at one of the All Stars? 6 rooms provides 12 beds. Depending on the time that you go and other considerations (Annual Pass, FL resident, etc) you can really get the cost down. Mary's Mousesaver's (www.mousesavers.com) has all the discount codes and rate examples. For instance, a special code that anyone can use gives you a deal betwen 8/25/02 and 10/2/02 when you can stay at the All Stars for only $59 per night. That would be $354 per night for 6 rooms and well under your limit. The advantage of the All Stars is (1) you're in the middle of Disney Magic 100% of the time and (2) the Disney bus system cannot be beat. Plus, the pool is nice and they have a pool bar . All 11 children will love it.

I was going to suggest the All Stars as well.

She didn't mention anything about cooking either. So she didn't need a kitchen/laundry.

Depending on where she lives she can get the $49 rate.

I got that rate last year and loved it.

Try looking into Vistana resort. The entertainment rate and the hotel kingdom rate are usually about $150 a night for a two bedroom villa with a sleeper sofa. They have several fabulous pools and are close to disney. I know they offer free transportaion, but don't know any details as we always like the freedom of our own car.

Beyond that, if the kitchen isn't important, I'd go with all stars too or even a moderate. It might be worth your while to look into getting an annual pass for yourself. You can then reserve up to three rooms at the passholder rate.

Holiday Inn Family Suites has Kid's Suites that sleep up to 7 (with pull-out trundle under the bunks). They have a free all-you-can eat breakfast buffet for all guests. Children 12 & under eat lunch and dinner free too. They also have a zero-depth entry pool, stocked with interactive water toys. They have a poolside bar as well. Their rates are very reasonable. I too say All Stars, not only will you have more than enough beds, you will have BATHROOMS, SHOWERS, and extra TVs for the evening. With that many people, you will always want the extra bathrooms. Also, since you will not have your car, staying onsite, will offer you the most options as far as bus service. You don't even have to have your rooms next to each other, they can be in the same building or area but this way everyone is "together" but still has their own space. Let us know what you decide.

We have made our Res. We are staying at the Holiday Inn suites. The Kid suites will work great for us. We also have a shuttle to all the parks. It feels so good to have that done!!!
