I am planning a trip to DL in March and wanted to stay in DLH...I have always swore by trip advisor but this latest review left me :scared1:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser...6230-Disneyland_Hotel-Anaheim_California.html

in the last few weeks DLH has dropped in popularity to 12th spot...Im taking my best friend and her 2 dds 12 & 15 and they have never ever been to DL which is why I want to go to DL hotel and the last thing I want is for them to have a horrid first experience. Any suggestions on what I can do to avoid this type of situation?

Oh my, that review would have me thinking twice too! :scared1: I always check tripadvisor before I stay in a new hotel and have found it very valuable (some of the stuff that has happened in hotels is amazing!). :confused3

That being said, I have never had a bad experience at the DLH. We have had some "only OK" stays (as far as customer service goes) but nothing has ever happened that would keep me from going back if the price was right. ::yes::

We arrive tomorrow and are staying at the DLH for five nights, I will let you know when we get back how it goes. We stayed there in April and loved it, so I have high hopes for the next five days..... :rotfl: :sad2:

well it doesnt matter anymore  all 3 properties of the DLR are booked, all of the superior hotels are booked, cannot get any packages for any of the hotels that I want through AAA, or WDTC for the days I am going :scared: ...So I had to think fast and started calling a few hotels and booking the rooms in the event that when I have the money to book, if the packages arent available, I can do it separately...My top 3 choices were DLH, CCI, and Sheraton...CCI was booked through pkgs. and online but I called them directly and lucky for me they have a few rooms left :faint: whew thank god...so I booked a ressie for CCI, sheraton, and Fairfield :thumbsup2 ...so at least now Im covered one way or another...and I can buy my parkhopper tickents at AAA office

Wow that is one bad review! Anything to do with urine smells is gonna scare off people like the plague! I had to giggle at the no free breakfast thing. If you can find a Disney property anywhere that offers a free breakfast that is really something! Hello, they want you to spend big bucks on one of their character breakfasts not stuff you full of free donuts. Also, the Disneyland Hotel will gladly bring you a coffee maker at no charge complete with filters and coffee packets. All you have to do is ask. As for a microwave, I have never stayed at any 4 star hotel or 3 star for that matter that had a microwave. The WDW resorts sure as heck don't provide them. Again, they want you to eat their microwaved food not your own! Anywayt, glad the OP found a place that works for her, I've never hear a bad thing about the Candy Cane.
