Location?

Nicely appointed? From the pics they seem a bit dated (at least when compared to BLT).

Amenities?

Pool?

Please advise. Thanks!

:)

Many love the resort because of the pool, SAB. In addition, it is very close to Epcot and the walk takes about 5 minutes, especially during Food & Wine in October/November. You also have access to the Boardwalk area which is nice, and can walk to DHS (if you want) in under 30 minutes.

We just came back from a stay there and it was very nice. It has a completely different feel than BLT and decor is much more of a beach theme than the contemporary look of BLT.

BLT remains our favorite because MK is our favorite park. However, BCV is definitely my 2nd choice resort.

Also the fact that it is one of the smallest DVC resorts
Plus restaurants are great - Beaches & Cream and Cape May Cafe
Short stroll to all the Boardwalk restaurants

The "dated" comment always gets me. No, they are not dated looking. If you prefer BLT, stay there.

BCV is small and close to Epcot so you can walk over to Epcot at 8:50PM to watch Illuminations and be back in bed by 9:30 if you like. Parking is very close to the resort.

BWV has the same location as BCV - proximity to 2 parks. Did you see that... 2 parks! No waiting on buses! You can walk 3-5 minutes to Epcot. Walk to the front of Epcot and take the monorail. Take a boat to Hollywood!

Both offer Proximity to a massive amount of restaurant choices.

But, The BCV Pool (Stormalong Bay known as SAB) is sooooo much better than BWV pool.

But if you have a car, parking at the BW is nothing like parking at BCV. Much easier at BCV. If you don't have a car, it's a moot point.

BCV is chock full of services!:thumbsup2 It is the only DVC with poolside food and beverage serverscloud9:

Im sorry, but Im not trying to walk to HS from BCV or BWV unless Im exercising!:rotfl:

Would it be fair to say that it is not necessarily more popular than BWV or BLT, but perhaps it is booked more because it is smaller?

Love the location you can walk to EPCOT and DHS. Also a pleasent stroll around the lagoon at night.

The only thing we dislike is the walk to the self park area. Our home is OKW and we usually rent a car and use it often to grocery shop, go outside Disney to eat and visit other parks.

We use Disney buses to go to the parks except for the water parks when we have wet bathing suits.

The BCV advantages:

1) It is location, location, location. It is not about the decor, which is fine.
It is not about the room views, which is okay.

2) Storm Along Bay. You are among the exclusive people to get to go to this pool adventure area. This is way better than the BWV Clown Pool. The CLOWNS kinda freak me out there. You want to be here if you love pools. Did I say this pool has a sand bottom? This pool is next to Beaches N Creams, as well as another pool snack bar.

Don't try to sneak into Storm Along Bay if your from another resort, they have to put a daily wrist band on people to keep others out.

When I am at the AKL Jambo house pool I ache to find a deep spot, and barely get over 4 feet sometimes. There is a lazy river kinda section of the Storm Along Bay where it can get over 8 feet deep. Buy or bring a pool noodle, you will love floating on it there.

There are other sections for normal swimming, and for kids as well.

If you need a chair in the sun, get there somewhat early, this place fills up quickly.

I like Storm Along Bay as much as I like Disney Parks and Water parks.

3) It is actually the CLOSEST resort to EPCOT. And if you have a Hopper or Annual Pass, dining at EPCOT even just for a couple of hours is "WONDERFUL".

4) Easy Access to the International Gate of EPCOT.
This is not easy quick access to the EPCOT monorail, you have to completely walk across EPCOT to reach the Monorail from the International Gate.
Use the bus if you are trying to go directly from BCV to the Magic Kingdom.

5) When Illuminations is over, you will be back in your BCV resort room faster than anyone else! Your tired body will thank you after you get back from Illuminations for having picked BCV. You will not understand this unique pleasure until you have been there and walked amongst all the people trying to get back to their resorts, and through their hallways to get to their rooms.
You will beat all others trying to reach their rooms by at least 5 minutes.
Your tired and crying kids and adults will thank you.

6) If you request a room near the lobby entrance or pool view, you will have very little walking to get to the very nearby MARKETPLACE for snacks, drinks, shopping.

7) Between the MARKETPLACE and the SAB area, this is the easiest place to get your refillable mug refilled without walking forever. We have gotten our mugs refilled more in this resort, than at any other DVC resort. We really get our refillable mugs filled an average of 7 to 10 times a day, it is so easy.

8) Cape May Cafe, Beaches N Cream, Admirals Gallery (yachtclub) are nice nearby places to dine.

If you need more just stroll over to the Boardwalk area. If you need more unique choices, stroll over to the Swan and Dolphin, and use your DVC discount there too. They have a 24 hour cafeteria too at the Dolphin I believe.

There is no great food court options at the BCV or BWV.

The MARKETPLACE is the closest place to pick up a snack, sandwich or salad. Don't forget to bring your refillable mug. It usually takes me 3 minutes to get from my room to the MARKETPLACE.

9) Take the boat to Hollywood Studios and sometimes Epcot.

10) Parking isn't bad there, however my favorite for parking is OKW.

Disney Park Buses are fuller here from visiting so many area resorts.

If you like to go to MK quite a bit more than me, I would recommend BLT for location.

----

But really don't stay at the BCV, so I can get a reservation there at the 7 month window.

My 29th and 30th trips to BCV are coming up in the next couple of months, so I'll let you know what I think.

I think BCV has the best self parking after OKW. It's not nearly as far as BWV, Jambo House, VWL. It can be closer than SSR and KV.

PHILCT,

Thanks for the comprehensive review.

BCV sounds great. We do like MK though. As a resort, however, BCV appears to easily trump BLT.

I might actually suggest that Kidani has the best self parkng. Though not as close as OKW (obviously) it was a godsend on out trip this June when our cars a/c was not working at 100% to be in the covered and (most importantly) SHADED parking there. And the walk from our room to the elevator and then the to car was shorter than the walk to the car in the BCV self parking. Themed - no, convenient -YES.
