We are going in 3 and a half weeks ..   it will be our first time so just want to double check this.

Neither DF or I have ever been arrested or charged or anything, we were both born in scotland and still live here. We have machine readable passports. I am right in thinking we can just do the visa waiver amn't I?

Also with car hire - I am only one driving, we have bought the gold - I think - insurance with virgin. I have no points on licence or anything. I should only need my driving license and not need to pay anything else. Does that sound right?

Sorry to ask but my mum (who hasn't been to USA or hired car abroad) is telling me I need a visa and will need to get some kind of insurance thing in uk for car.

Yup sounds like you are ok the only thing is if you have the new card license take the paper part as well, they hardly ever look at it but the terms and conditions say you need to take both! As for the giold Virgin Insurance that should cover everything for one driver except the first tank of fuel.

BTW have a wonderful Disneymoon :bride: :groom:

Claire ;)

Sounds like you are all good to me :)

Have a great trip

Don't forget to take your credit card - The car hire company may ask for it. Are you over 21? If so then good. If not, tell the car hire/tour operator before you leave. Its all to do with the insurance, plus some car hire companies get a little funny if you are a young driver.

Have you had your licence for more than a year? If yes, good!! If not, inform them!!

Have a fun trip!!

Thanks for the replies! Its set my mind at ease!

Thanks Claire am a very nervous :bride: at the minute but should be good.

MBK I am over 21 and had my license for ooh too long! So I should be ok there. I'll remember to take my credit card then, thanks for that didn't think would need it so I suppose I'd better let them know I'm going abroad.

You will be fine ~ Have a wonderful trip:goodvibes
