I joined emerald club through the free site, I made a reservation for a full sized car at Emerald reserve, what do I do? Do I go to the counter or straight outside. I also have the emerald aisle membership card, I received it in the mail.

Can someone tell me step by step what I do now?

We are arriving in Orlando this Saturday morning.

Thanks

Go straight out to the garage. Go to the row labeled "full size". Pick the car you like, load up and drive to the booth at the exit. At the exit, hand the attendent the hang tag from the mirror or dashboard, your license, credit card, emerald club card, any coupons. They will ask you if you want prepaid gas or fill it yourself. They do the paperwork and hand the hangtag back to you with your record # on it. When you return it, you just follow the signs to National return. An attendent will point where to park. They will hand you a receipt and you're done!

Just make sure that if you opt out of the prepaid gas you fill up before you return it. We got hammered last time, b/c we couldn't find an easy access gas station on the way to the airport.

What do they charge for the "PrePaid" gas? Is is worth it?

In March Emerald actually offered the average going rate for gas($2.12 I think),
so it worked out for us. Yes, we chose to prepay. You might ask what the going price is down there now.
Have a great trip!

With the gas prices as they are now, I can only imagine what National is charging for the prepaid. If you are leaving WDW and going straight to the airport when you depart (no side trips), fill up at the gas station in front of the Boardwalk or near DTD (I think they are Hess' now, but not sure). If you top it off there, by the time you get to the airport, it will still be showing as full and you'll be fine. We've done it this way the last couple of trips and not had any problems.

Prepaid is a BIG money maker for them. Unless you bring the car in on fumes, you lose. When you leave MCO, check the gas gauge when you get to WDW. It should not have moved. When you return, fill up at any one of the several stations on site. Prepaying, you are paying for a FULL tank, even if you return it half full, and that is the advertised full tank by the manufacture of the car. Prepay=big $ for the rental company.

We were surprised we didn't get ripped off here, also. In tooling around the area we found we weren't paying more 2 cents more.
I agree it is usually a big money maker for them tho-
