Hi everyone,

I have been doing a lot of soul searching about my own wedding priorities. I was just curious to hear: what is your #1 priority for the wedding? By this, I am speaking strictly from a Material Girl perspective. What is the one thing that you could not possibly let go of? Cinderella's coach, that 3-tier wedding cake, Band or Orchestra, Special favors that you hunted down on EBAY....you get the point. Try to stay away from the generic...a Disney wedding. We want the nitty gritty bridezilla details.... :teeth:

For me, I would say #1 is spectacular photojournalistic wedding pictures. Followed closely by fireworks dessert party (so unique to Disney) and a vintage car for my DF and I. OK...so that was 3, but I couldn't help myself. Your turn! :wave2:

I just can't budge from the dessert party, when I heard about them I knew that that was the one thing that I would plan the rest of my day around (it's going to be a surprise to our guests, as our wedding most likely will be really early in the a.m.)

Its hard to really distinguish why I wanted a WDW wedding, when in fact, we had originally wanted a Hawaiian wedding (Mom nixed that idea in the bud). But after seeing all of my friends get married (I have stood up in 14 weddings with 2 more to go), I just knew that I wanted something spectacular and different than any other wedding I've been too. I am not really fussy about my cake, the flowers, or music, just as long as I look glowing in my dress and get to marry the love of my life...and who wouldn't want to do it at the happiest place on earth???

Tough to choose just one!

Photography is important to us, so we are going with Randy Chapman.

I couldn't do without the Magic Kingdom Photo session, even if there's going to be the stupid grad night concert stage blocking the front of the castle.

I'm really really looking forward to the Fantasmic Dessert Party, couldn't do without that!!

And I couldn't go without having Mickey & Minnie at the reception!!

Hmm... my floral... JUST the way I want it ;)

I want my guests to be comfortable and know how thankful we are to have them there as well. When I read the question, that was the first thing that resonated. The above is my bridezilla moment.

I wanted my dog there, too. Nope. They won't let Casey in the Wedding Pavilion. Having a white dove release was always very important to me, too. I was told we couldn't do one becuase hawks learned the release pattern and would swoop in from the Polynesian and eat them before they got back to the box. Yeah... not really what we were going for with that gig.

In some ways, I feel like I've given things up to be at Disney...

This is going to sound strange, but I would have done whatever it took just to have the wedding at disney...if I had ended up with 260 guests (that was the invitation list) I would have just done desserts. I guess, the one thing that I really needed, and I don't know what this says about me, but I wanted a non-cash bar.

The one thing that I wanted was the Wedding Pavilion. My husband and I watched it being built during one of our Grand Floridian vacations. We knew it would be the perfect place for our vow renewal, and it was.

Oh wow, I have chills going up my arms just reading your post Janet. How romantic that you were able to watch the construction of the pavilion where you would have your dream vow renewal, not to mention all the other happy couples that would eventually wed there.

Thanks, FutureAshleyDukes. It truly was the most perfect spot for us to say "I do, again."

WDWbride2007, you listed a # 2 and a # 3 priority. I can't think of any offhand, but if I do, I will post them here. The easy one for me was the # 1 priority (the Wedding Pavilion). The others will be hard.

my #1 would have to be the dessert party - many of my guests have never been to disney and i thought this would be the perfect way to finish the day - especially as it means so much to me and my fiance!

For us it was The Yacht Club Gazebo we didn't want to get married at Disney, we wanted to get married at The YC and marry in the Gazebo as this was where our first vacation was spent together. Oh and Mickey and Minnie - THEY had to be there LOL

The DCA reception (since we couldn't do the castle)/cinderella's coach/photography

top 3 are all #1's! LOL

oh, I can't forget about the mickey cake! (melissa's post reminded me!) :)

My #1 would have to be the photography, after everything is done, all you really have are the photos, so that's the most important thing. So we hired Randy without a second thought.

Second is deffinatly my cake, I looooove the silver mickey head one and just HAD to have it.

Melissa

Number one was the MK photo session and I'm so glad I did. The other big splurge was a Garden Suite at the Boardwalk during peak season with NO discount.

I haven't been fixated by one thing yet since we're still in the early planning phases but I have stressed to everyone is that this is a day for Jason and I. We've been pretty selfish with the planning so far. Just having a destination wedding was a big step for his family. It took them about two weeks to get over it and realize that they better start saving up because it was happening no matter who was there. I know a lot of people are more accomodating when it comes to that sort of thing, but as soon as we got engaged we said "We're getting married here!" So I guess that's my bridezilla moment - making it all about us and making sure we're happy first.

Of course I thought I was going to insist on Sunset Pointe and end up not inviting some close family members, but we were persuaded to look at other options, so I even surprised myself.

Our #1 would have to be the Illuminations DP. We both love that show and you could say it is what made us hit it off from the start.

I would also have to say having the reception at a park.(epcot)

Fun thread! My big things are: 1. Illuminations dessert party and 2. Cinderella's coach. When else are you ever going to get to ride in it?!

For me it was Randy, the WP, Mickey & Minnie! Everything far exceeded our greatest dreams!

Eventhough I'm not married yet, it is the photography, MK photo session, and of course the flowergirls' dresses matching my dress. I know it sounds crazy- but I have an apple color red in my dress and I want their dresses to match with the red and ivory.

Cinderellas Coach and a Dessert/Champage Party at the Italy Isola. . . thday after the wedding.

Would Cinderella's Coach take you from the WP to where your reception is (say all the way to the Boardwalk)??
