Hi All! My wonderful brother has invited me to attend the Olympics in 2012 in the glorious city of London. I would greatly appreciate any links to planning sites. I need a dis for London! We are hoping to go for about 3 weeks so I am hoping to rent something with a small kitchen- save some quid cooking at home, eh? ( See, I am learning!) What do ya'll think about that plan?

I think accommodation will be like gold-dust so maybe look at places just outside London as well as those nearer to the venues. Some of the sports, eg sailing and football are taking place in other parts of the country too.

Is your brother living in London or are you planning a trip together? From the way your message reads I'm assuming you're not already in the UK.

I am planning on going. I live in Texas now, but am from London and my parents still live there. I should tell them to rent out the spare bedrooms and have a little B&B for a couple of weeks. They could make a fortune as they are in east London and about 20 minutes on the train from the main venues. But I want to go

How do you get tickets for the olympics? Do they go on general sale or is it a lottery type thing?
