I am thinking about booking a May 1st through the 7th WDW trip. Is it a heavy time for members? How are the parks? I thought that maybe we could suprise our inlaws with the stay as a Christmas gift.

If we do this than I would like to stay at OKW but would probably book SSR and then wait for the 7 month window and switch. We only have 124 points left for next year so OKW we would do 2 studios at 5 nights each and pay cash for the sixth night and bank the 24 remainder points. If it were at SSR we would have 4 points left to bank. Either way it would be an amazing trip.

So do you think it would be hard to book 2 OKW studios for the first week of may?

We went in early May a couple of years ago. I made a reservation at OKW with about 6 weeks notice. The parks did not seem busy.

We love to go in May.Kids are still in school. We went the 6-13 this year and it was Wonderful then went the week before Memorial day and it was Crazy.Definetly go the beginning of May.You will Love it during that time of year.

Thanks so much. I am looking up weather and it averages around the 70s. Would you consider it hot down there in May? My in laws don't like too much heat when trekking around WDW.

We usually go in May and the weather is great. Sometimes the weather will get a little hot, but, mostly it is very comfortable. Crowds are very manageable and I just love the parks during this time.

We always go the first week of May, even pulling our kids out of school to do so. It's not terribly crowded, though can be hot.

We have made changes to our ressie, even a week before (studio chg to 1 bedroom) without a problem, but we are always at VWL.

You'll love it that time of year. Epcot is in the Flower and Garden festival and truly beautiful!

I've gone the first or second week of May the past 5 years. I had no problem getting an OKW 1 bedroom at 7 months or less.

Weather can be hot - some of our trips were low to mid 90's. This year was cooler, mid 80's. It's not high humdity like the summer. Very little rain. Average temps in the 70's must be the average for the entire day, not the highs. Average highs are high 80's in May according to weather.com.

Early May hasn't been difficult to book the last 3 years. It's often near 90, but not as humid as summer or September, so the weather is OK for me (who hates the heat/humidity). Parks have been moderate. We like that time of year......... great way for DH to celebrate his birthday.

Agreeing with everyone else. You can probably book 2 studios a month before arrival to OKW. Generally, it is starting to get warm in May with the temperatures in the low to high 80's and somewhat humid. Afternoon showers are a possibility.

Not what I want to hear! I thought anytime before Memorial Day would mean few crowds. We're planning to visit WDW for a few days after our May 22-26 cruise on the Wonder. It'll be Baby Scotch's first trip to WDW so we were going to keep it simple and just visit MK for one day then hang out at a resort for one or two days. But if it'll be really busy at MK by then, then we may just head home right after the cruise.
