I'm concerned about being able to fit on the rides!

I'm 6'2" 320 lbs

I have a 48" waist and ware a size 58 suit jacket

Please save me some embarassment by letting me know which rides at WDW I might not fit.

Thanks so so much!

Make sure to check the above site. It is awesome. Some rides like Test Track let you try out the ride vehicle (in a private setting) before you even queue up, so you can avoid embarrassment.

Good Luck!

do you know which rides you want to go on? i don't think there are too many rides that would be uncomfortable. maybe space mountain (??) if i remember right, it's a single seat that's a little hard to get into. i'm not really sure though because i haven't been on it in awhile. it's too herky jerky for me.

Well~ I clock in at around 250, and have never tried to sit in any ride vehicle that I wouldn't fit into. Not always exactly *comfortable*, but always fit. In all 4 WDW parks, and also both USF parks, as well as SW. I've never tried any of the most extreme rides, though, b/c the idea of an inversion makes me feel a little :crazy2:  HTH

To me you are not fat, for your height. You are what I would call thick. You should have no problems whatsoever at disney. So, relax and enjoy thoroughly. Just to let you know my husband is 6' and around the same weight. He has no problems. Now, if you are going to lets say universal. Thier ride seats seem a little bit more on the small side. But, on the big coasters, I know row 3, and 6 are where the tall thick people will fit. Anyhow, have a great, wonderful time!!

My 6'3", 300 lb DH has fit on every ride at all the WDW Parks, as did my 6'1", 340 lb BIL. You should have no problems, have the time of your life.

It is my considered opinion that you will have no problems at all with any of the rides. I'm pretty big myself and have enjoyed EVERY ride at WDW except for three (Barnstormer, the Tea Cups, and Astro Orbiter), and I probably could ride those too if I wanted to, but I don't think either of those three look fun.

Enjoy.

I have been very fat at WDW before and I always fit into everything. The only problem I had was getting out of the Astro Orbiter and that was more because I was dizzy beyond belief....LOL!

I've lost 50 pounds and can't wait to see if I even see a difference.

Oh I've ridden all the extreme rides too and don't fine!

My DH is about your size, maybe a little bigger. He went on many rides. The only rides he didn't because he finds them uncomfortable are Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain. He rode Test Track but it didn't have much leg room for him. My DH thought the new EE ride at AK was very roomy. He didn't ride Mission Space, Tea Cups, Dumbo, Astro Orbiter, or Rock and Roller Coaster, so I can't comment on these rides. Everything else was fine for him. You will not have a problem. Enjoy!

Disney Parks accomodate "Pooh" size better than any others that I have seen or heard.

There is a lot of great information on Deb Willis' Site:

This is a great website. Be sure to read about the English lady's experience on the Lazy River at Typhoon Lagoon :lmao: She did such a great job describing her experience that I could easily have pictured myself in her place. She definitely should win an award just for that story! :goodvibes Enjoy the trip and try not to worry. You'll do fine!

My DH is 6'4", 320 lb. He hasn't had many problems, only the rides that require his knees to be really bent, because he had a knee replacement, but so far, so good for the ones we have gone on. I was wondering the same thing about Splash Mountain, we plan to go on it this trip but the cars looked small on the allearsnet site. I guess we'll see if he fits well, especially leg wise.... we are headed down to DW tomorrow morning :cool1:

I just wanted to welcome you to the DIS! We're glad you found us and hope you have a fantastic vacation. :)

Astro Blasters, Pirates of the Carribean turnstile, Indy Speedway, Cinderella's Carasoul (ponies) and Space Mountain. These are not easy to get in and out of POTC has a short turnstile.

Any seat that allow another (2 or more seats), you may spill into the other seat, so be conscience of who is next to you (ride with a skinny)!

From what I have been told, the turnstiles at PoC have been changed to the walk through type that work off of a light sensor! So, no more trouble with that devilish hunk of junk! Maggie

I am 6ft 325lbs, waist 50-52, and just went in august and rode just about absolutely everything but Mission Space.....and I had no problems in any ride whatsoever, infact most rides I would even consider felt roomy except for Space Mountain which was snug but not tight....try if you can to sit in the front set of seats on test track and Rock n' Roller Coaster as I felt these provided more room, although I still managed in the back row of seats fine but it was a little harder to get in and out.

I believe that you can also ask to ride singlely if you think the seats are going to be too tight with another person in there next to you. The CM's are trained to handle those sticky situations with dignity and respect.

I too am a Pooh sized person and have had no trouble riding any ride that I wanted. The only ride that I thought was a tight fit was Dinorama. It would not have been so bad if the CM had not insisted that he put 4 of us pooh sized people on it though. Sometimes they forget to look at the size of people riding and try to fill every seat not matter how uncomfortable it might be, so they need to be reminded occasionally.

Hey there, welcome!

I think you'll be fine. I was 5'3" and 326#s at my heaviest and the thing I had the most trouble with was the crazy turnstiles, esp. the one at the HM, I actually held up the line (for a re-enaction of said nightmare search for the thread entitled "funny things you heard while at Disney").

Disney is very pooh friendly; I even rode all of the Mountains. Enjoy yourself!
