This is my first time using DME, so it's all new to me. I just saw another thread warning about Delta partner airlines, and that only Delta itself is eligible for direct delivery of baggage to a Disney resort.

Here's my situation. I fly out of Flint on a Delta partner (Atlantic Southeast). Then I change planes in Atlanta, and I will actually arrive in Orlando on a Delta flight (no partner). In that situation, will ME still handle my baggage for me or should I claim it myself?

I have the same situation on the way home. My flight out of Orlando is on Delta, and then I change to an Atlantic SE flight again. Same question - will I qualify for my bags to be handled for me or do I need to do this myself because one leg of the trip is not Delta itself?

I had no idea this could be an issue until I saw that other thread just a few minutes ago. Otherwise I'd have looked into this much sooner.

HELP! I have an early morning flight in a few hours, and I don't want to take a chance that my bags won't show up at the resort. :guilty:

TIA! :wave2:

Domestic passengers arriving in Orlando on ABSOLUTELY ANY airline and staying in a Disney resort* are eligible to 'participate' in ALL the services provided by Disney's Magical Express. This includes Delta and ALL its partner airlines. Just put the yellow tags on your luggage before checking it in at your home airport.

Since you are leaving Orlando on a DELTA flight, you are eligible to check in for your flight at your resort, and to check your luggage through to your home airport. It does not matter at ALL if or where you are changing planes, or airlines.

Also, the ONLY Delta partner that people are or were having trouble with is Freedom. Since Atlantic Southeast is NOT Freedom, it's a non-issue.

*with advance reservations, of course.

Thanks, kaytieeldr! This is great news. You clarified everything wonderfully, so now I won't worry anymore. I can go to bed in peace. (Well, for a few hours anyway) Thanks so much for taking the time to explain! :)

Yeah, I know what you mean. So much to be excited about! That's why I said I could go to bed, but I didn't say that I'd actually sleep. :rotfl:

Well, I better try. That alarm will go off awfully early. :badpc:
