What the heck. We're moving on up. Seems we're booked a week later than all the lucky people getting the free upgrades  So, Sept 9 to 15 a party of 2 adult women who are not interested in the pools but would like to pop into the bar would you recommend CBR or CSR and why? (Both of us do or have lived in New Orleans and the Missippi Delta so really not interested in POR or POFQ, it wouldn't be like leaving home at all :rotfl: )

We enjoyed CSR way more for many reasons:
1.less spread out
2.much bigger nicer pool- not as overrun with screaming kids
3.much better bus service
4.same tropical feel in the cabanas section if you like that theme, but also has the beautiful casitas and southwestern ranchos for diversity
5. better choices at the food court
6. spa on site
7.We didn't go to the bar there, but I think they have both an indoor and outdoor/pool bar at CSR, but I only saw 1 outdoor one at CBR.

CBR. The spread out part is one of the draws to the CBR. You do not feel as if you are cramped. Just my opinion. I have heard good things about both resorts.

Its almost to close to call, but CBR wins in my book. Everyone says CSR's pool is better, but that isnt a deciding factor for me...as we dont swim when we are on vacation.

We have not stayed at CSR but my daughters, my mom, and I love CBR. We love the beautiful tropical themeing, white sandy beaches with hammocks, and friendly ducks. Check out Safetymom's FAQ on CBR. She has a ton of great information, pictures, maps, etc. Good luck on your decision and I'm sure whichever resort you choose, you will be happy.

I just returned from my first stay at CSR last week and it was great!! The resort is so beautiful, it's like being whisked away to some tropical location. We did have any issues with the transportation or size of the resort. I would highly recommend it.

slightly OT... tell me more about the people getting free upgrades and how they know this far in advance? i'll be there 8/28-9/3 and a friend will be there 9/1-9/8 and would LOVE free upgrade info...

CSR has central air, CBR has window units, if that affects your choice.

Been to CSR...love it! Never been to CBR to compare it though.

From what I understand, some value resort guests are receiving emails with codes good for a free upgrade to SSR or OKW. It's speculated they are being sent out due to overbooking at the value resorts the week before labor day for the free dining promo. Since the codes are non transferable you must receive the email yourself. There are several threads about it.

I like both resorts.
DFi prefers the bar at CBR because he likes relaxing outdoors at night. I liked the bar at CSR for the chips & salsa. I love the look of CBR more though.

CSR for sure! Last time I was at CBR, it had seemed to age tremendously from when I stayed there after it opened. Recently visited CSR and thought it was a great value!

We did not like CBR at all... although we have not stayed at CSR, we have visited and I would LOVE to stay there. Right now we are on an AKL kick but will definitely be trying CSR in the future.
