I've already booked our 3 night stay at RPR for September trip with our park tickets and Mears shuttle. Total about $1400. This is club level.

Meanwhile... I joined AAA. Now I could probably have saved about $400. But on the AAA site, it doesn't give you the option of club level... just the price for standard rooms, regular or pool view.

So my questions are:

Can I do anything about any of this now that it is all paid for?

If I had booked through AAA, how would I get club level?

:confused3

Any help will be greatly appreciated!! You guys are the best. I lurk each year around this time and always appreciate the help I get here.

call and have them modify your rate.
if you booked each separately, the room rate can be applied with the aaa.

you don't have to explain anything.

just tell them you forgot to give your aaa number for a discount.
then listen to what they say about that.

i never book thru aaa.
i book it myself direct

When you say it is all paid for, I am wondering if you bought a package through Universal Vacations. If so, I am thinking that it can't be changed.

Yes, I booked through the Universal website. I paid in full.

I would still give them a call, but I don't think you can apply AAA discounts when you are booking through a travel agency like Universal Vacations.

damo, i did that once when i wasn't aware of discounts.
yea, we are talking the stone age on that one...:rotfl2:

i called and they did apply my aaa for a discount on the room portion of my package.

they broke it down to the basics for us and i received a credit on my cc.

now if they don't do that now, the op can talk to bookkeeping supervisor and maybe they can help her with the discount.

i have gone thru that branch of uo before when i made payments in advance and it wasn't due to a package.
i stayed for 7 days and wanted to pay something each month due to my budget.

normally, no.
those packages are not eligible for aaa unless you booked thru AAA travel site.

I called Universal Vacations and they told me to call AAA see if I could get it cheaper then call back and cancel with them. Not sure it is worth all the trouble, everything is done now. I might call to just see what the savings would be.

Next time... I will use AAA to begin with! Thanks ALL!!

Was there going to be a cancellation fee?

What trouble? It's a couple of phone calls.

Don't worry. I did the exact same thing. Booked it all online and then remembered my AAA Membership. Called AAA and asked what their deal was. No better as all the rooms at the AAA rate were sold out. Stayed with my original reservation.

It's worth a phone call to AAA to see if they have a better deal. You never know.

Enjoy!
