Ok, I need handyman help please

I hope this is not a dumb question but since I dont know the answer I am asking it. What do you use to reattach a rearview mirror? I got out of work tonight and mine was laying on the passenger seat. What do I need to do?

That happened to me with my Mustang.. I think there is two stage epoxy or something like that... will do the trick. My dad did it at it did take a while to drive. I can't remember the brand of it, but it is available.


You can't use regular Elmers glue.

There is a special glue for it.....the Mom just had hers fall off and had to go to a glass shop they charged her 25 buck, ugh! I thought that you could use super glue but she said no, had to be a special epoxy type as above poster stated.

I think I will let that job be handled by my step dad who does all the reapirs to my car.

"Rearview Mirror Glue", sold at any Auto Parts store for under $5
(I just had to do this during my last WDW visit )

It's a 5 minute job, M's, you can do it
...The key is to mark the spot with a crayon on the OUTSIDE of the windshield (trace outline where old glue is) , then thoroughly clean off all the old glue from the windshield (use alcohol and a razor blade...or something alcohol based...i didnt have any, so I used a dab of mouthwash on a napkin ). You'll need an allen wrench to remove the 'button' from the back of the mirror (I ran over to the AAA car care center near the MK and had a mechanic do this for me ) There's a primer in the kit, for the back of the button...takes 2 minutes to cure, then only ONE drop of the glue. Press the button to the windshield and hold for a minute... then, let it stay button ONLY overnight before re-hanging the mirror.
