..... ok, I need costume advice .....

I have a little over a week to find "cream sweatpants and a cream long-sleeved t-shirt," sized 10-12 for DS. While I appreciate that it's not a "I need it tomorrow" request, I can't find either of them! At least we know where to buy the required wig.

Not only are the local stores mostly out of sweatpants, cream must not be a popular color for sweatpants anyway. Know anybody that carries cream long-sleeved t-shirts? I thought Lands' End would....

I've also searched the 'net with no success, so I'm willing to talk compromises - and if the music teacher complains, I'll be forced to discuss how rude she's been to him lately.

I found a pair of stone pants that looked too close to white. On a different site, I found a pair of "light khaki" pants that I thought might be close enough. What do you think? Any ideas?

Well, I don't know for sure but you may want to try buying white sweat pants and a white tee and try to dye them with tea.

Brew some tea (8-10 tea bags) with a lot of water in a large pot. Put the sweats and tee in the tea and make sure they are saturated well. Stir. Let it sit awhile and then drain and rinse well in cold water. Wash them in the cold water cycle and dry.

They should come out a cream color.

Have you tried craft stores? Cream is a popular color for craft projects and they usually carry plain t-shirts & sweats.

BerMom, please know I can't guarantee the tea dyeing will work. I'd only use it as a last resort.

You may want to ask the other mother's of student's in your son's class where they are getting their costume supplies.

i dont know how old your son is, or what size he is, but there might be a long sleeved T at Gap that will fit him. I have on one right now! If the mens wont fit, try a ladies and just dont tell him where you got it...he'll never know

I think we'll head to the mall this afternoon and see what we can find. They have a GAP and JCPenney's website looked promising.

There are only two other kids that have the same "costume" he does. They are both girls and are wearing cream tights.

Good luck! I remember when DD#1 was in the chorus of "Joseph...Dreamcoat" and needed white shorts...in November! Who sells white shorts in November!!! I had to get them over the internet as well.
