I am going in August with my two boys 5 & 2. DH is in a conference for 3-4 days so we will be on our own. Thanks to some great suggestions and tips; I've got the stroller dilemma figured out. I am going to check my single stroller when I rent the double stroller so that both boys can sit in the parks, but they have a stroller/ buggy board for the walk to/from hotel, bus stops and parks.

Ok next problem is how do I get food from counter service with the double stroller? I am feeling like it is too wide for the lines. I will probably eat at one counter service a day. Never thought of this until about 10 minutes ago when I was picking our restaurants to make ADRs.

Worse comes to worse I will make ADRs for lunch everyday go back to the hotel for a rest/nap and then eat an early dinner at our hotel before heading back out to the parks in the evening.

Each counter service restaurant has at least one line that is marked with a wheelchair symbol that should be wide enough. The only problem we have seen is that if all the registers are not open, sometimes that is one that is closed.
There is also usually a CM available that might be able to help you carry your stuff back to the table - pushing a double stroller and a full tray will not be that easy.

Also, if you want a rest, but don't want to go all the way back to your hotel, try out the Baby Care Center at the parks. People think of them as just for changing diapers and/or nursing, but they have a room with TVs playing Disney movies where you can rest and get recharged a bit.

That's really good to know that there is a accessible line and hopefully some one can help me carry the tray. I've gotten really good at maneuvering the double stroller and food over the years but I will welcome any help I can get.

DS 5 takes a couple of days to warm up so I really think the days without my DH is mostly going to be walking around, eating and playing in the water playgrounds. Which is definitely easier on me. Although he's already talking about how he is going to be really brave this trip and go on all the rides and even watch the fireworks. We'll see; either way we're going to have a great time!!!

Not to be negative but...I am not sure about all the restaurants but some of the cs places we ate would not be large enough to bring in the double strollers rented by disney. The doubles are quite large and the restaurants are pretty tight places. I don't think I saw any inside the restaurants....Maybe I am wrong.... Anyone?

I plan on eating early lunches to avoid the crowds so I won't have trouble finding a table or high chair for DS2.

Like I said worse comes to worse I will eat TS for lunch and then get a quick early dinner at my hotel before heading back out to the parks in the evening.

What does everyone think about being able to use the stroller in the CS lines?

I think it depends largely on the restaurant you go to. Some of the w/c lines looked pretty narrow to me (I don't know why, but my head is saying the CS place in China, World Showcase; that may just be me going haywire, though), but I think a fair few of them you should be able to cope with. If you have problems, especially if you're going at a quieter time in the day, I'm sure if you explain the situation nicely to a CM they'll do everything they can to help :goodvibes .

That way if its too crowded or crazy at the CS we can just go sit down and eat at a TS. In the end, that might be easier anyway. Giving all a chance for some A/C and to recharge our batteries; we will be there at the end of August.

THanks again

look at getting a GAS that says "stroller as wheelchair" since you said both of your sons have needs that require them to have their "safe space." This way at a cs restaurant, they cant tell you to leave it outside. some restaurants do not allow strollers inside. this should help take care of it.
