Ok I have confused myself...Help!

My husband and I take a romantic trip every year. So this year he said we could go to DL Yay! We go to DW every year so this will be the first time my DH has been and my 3rd time, last time being 1994. I have been reading threads and trip reports and I can not figure out when we should go. Here are my time frames...
Nov 10 - 14
Nov 26 - 30
Dec 26 - 30
or sometime in August. My husband is a teacher so our times are limited. I would really like to see the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay. The Haunted Mansion is my favorite ride of all time. But would the holiday stuff be up in early Nov? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am really looking forward to going back there. Thank you

Christmas at Disneyland will not have started yet during your first set of dates listed.

To avoid crowds, the earlier you can go in November, the better. And yes, the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay will be up (it's up starting in late September for Halloween).

However, I think this year, the days after Thanksgiving weren't as crowded as years past because the annual passholders were blocked out, so perhaps you could go November 26-30 to see all the holiday decor/lights/firewords and not have to deal with shoulder to shoulder crowds.....hopefully.

Nov 10-14: Vets day crowds (especially since many schools are making it a 4 day weekend), Xmas decor should be up by 12 based on 2009 schedule, HM holiday is up for Halloween too so it will be up even if Xmas isn't.

TG: more crowds than vets day, I'd say less than after Xmas (worst crowds), all Xmas will be up and running

dec 26-30: worst crowds, DEP

Aug: HM open in regular version

Haunted Mansion Holiday goes up with the Halloween decorations and stays through the Christmas season. If you go on either of your November dates, DLR should be decorated for Christmas. I couldn't find exact dates. As far as crowds, earlier November would most likely be the least crowded of the dates you mention, though you never know when an event or convention could bring in crowds.

Thank you guys for all of your help. I am kind of leaning toward the Thanksgiving time frame. I know it will be crowded but I am hoping if I do enough research on here that I should be able to see everything I want to. How crowded does it get at that time of year? Is it Christmas or Easter crazy or is it just summer crowded? Thanks for your help.

Good choice going with right after Thanksgiving, if this year is anything like last year it should be a good time to visit ~ I'm hoping for the same thing for the 4th of July weekend, last year it was fairly calm because a lot of APs were blocked.

RE ~ Is it Christmas or Easter crazy or is it just summer crowded? *I don't think it'll be as crowded as any of those times.
