On this past trip ( just got home 24 hours ago I drove) I bought in. We stayed at SSR and OKW this trip with CM discount in a one bedroom. I don't know if I will ever be able to go back to not having a washer/dryer in the room! The papers were waiting when I got home. I couldn't finish them at WDW cause hubby didn't go and I wanted him on the deed.

I am bummed cause they spelled his name wrong and have to resend the papers.

I am curious why so many people are down on SSR . I thought it was lovely when I was staying there.

Congratulations on your purchase and Welcome Home!

Everyone who doesn't like SSR, is one less person that you're up against when you want to book your resort, so don't mind them. We stayed there once, and would stay there again.

Congratulations and Welcome Home. I just added on to SSR and did this so I sill keep my same UY so all my points are together instead of all over the place. Just easier for me. I was there briefly on my last trip in March (stayed at OKW), I would stay there anytime. I think the one issue is the ongoing construction to finish up the resort. Planning on staying at BCV in August 2007, I just want to experience all the resorts. I will stay at SSR when the project is completed.

Honestly, I'm not sure where all the negativity toward SSR originates from. Some folks just have to find fault with something--it's in their disposition toward life, I suppose. And SSR is still "in the works" as it were with ongoing construction and maturation needs. But, all resorts have a break-in periods. SSR is a lovely resort and will get even better over time. Plus, I love having those 12 extra years. As bobbiwoz says, each naysayer is one less person with whom you have to compete. Welcome home! :thumbsup2

People don't like change. Peolple always find something to complain about. Over time it wll pass, it'll happen at the next resort to open. Then the next after resort after that one.

SSR is a great resort! Actually aal of the DVC resorts are great! And as far as timeshares are concern, DVC does a great job!

Enjoy your new purchase! :thumbsup2

:welcome: HOME!!

Everyones tastes are different and what some posters enjoy about their home resorts are things that I don't particularly enjoy so that is why I bought at SSR.

:Pinkbounc CONGRATULATIONS & WELCOME HOME! :Pinkbounc
Glad you took the plunge! I agree about that laundry in the room!

Welcome Home! It IS a lovely resort. We stayed there right after it opened and I would love to get a few points there.

Thanks everyone. I go to Disney a lot so I know the points will be used. In fact I will prolly still be staying at the POP every so often cause I will run out of points otherwise. The only DVC resorts I have stayed at are OKW and SSR. I stayed at BC before the villas and at WL the same. I look forward to staying at all of the DVC resorts when I can.

My only complaint is I think that the artists pallet is too small for the number of people staying there.I guess they kept it small because they felt that people would have more meals in their rooms.

Congratulations & Welcome Home!!

We are SSR owners and we love it there! We had reservations for WLV this past January, but were staying at SSR for first night. We loved WLV, but were sad to leave SSR because we enjoy it so much. We do not have young children (empty-nesters), so we enjoy getting away from the parks at the end of the day. Don't mind the bus rides either. We look at it as a few minutes to unwind before we get back to the room. We just talk about our day or listen to other people talking about theirs. I don't think there are as many naysayers about SSR as we think. Its just that ones that are are very vocal about it. I say "to each his own." I enjoy all the DVC's and I try to go with the attitude that its a vacation, and I am not going to let anything spoil my time away from work.

Enjoy, it is a great resort! :cool1:

I finally got the papers corrected and they are all signed. I called them today and put the balance on the CC. I need to Fed Ex the package back and I am done.
