my cat felt the need to jump on top of me while I was lying in bed last night, and why seh felt the need to park her 25 pounds of flab and fur on my stomach.

but can anyone tell me why she felt the need to put her tail in my face?

You're her mommy and she wants you to wash up where she can't reach with all of that flab. LOL

Mine does the same thing-- I think it is a respect thing, but I don't know.

My cat is constantly whacking me in the face with her tail - yuck! :p

All three of our cats do that. Showing their tails is something they do to each other to get acknowledgement or something...so they show them to us.

Actually, it's a compliment. Showing tails is the way that kitties greet others in their clan, and is the first way they identify each other. Shoving a tail in the face is like saying "I accept you, and wish to greet you and show that I trust you". Try giving an acknowledging scritch on the back at the base of the tail, then push the tail end away from you. That essentially says you accept the greeting.

OK, then what does it mean when my cat sticks his paws in my mouth? Every morning, he cries for his breakfast, and jumps on my stomach to stick his paws in my mouth.

OK, what does it mean when they sit on the floor next to your bed starring at you and they lick your eyeballs while you are sleeping?
