Ok, I am alittle premature on my question!

We are not going until the first of May 2002, but I am just curious as to when the airlines determine if there is going to be a "sale" or start to lower their fares. Just wondering when I will start to see some lower fares. We are flying out of Minneapolis to Orlando. We have flown with Northwest in the past, Champion Air once, but I am looking at Delta a/c they are looking like the lowest air carrier. Any suggestions, pointers would be great!!! Thanks

I'm planning on May 2002 too. I'm from the northeast and wish I could use the fares they are advertising now...

I'm in the same boat! But check out the sale fares now and see how they compare to what you can get for May ( I think most of May can be booked already...though it is early). We have other circumstances that make booking early risky, but I wouldn't hesitate to book now if I could get a great rate! I know this year there were some really great rates for May in April, but in my area they were predominately connecting flights...all the direct flights had very little availability ie. if you needed a specific date you might not get it.

Let's all wish each other luck for good May airfares next year!
