Ok, I admit it.

NEVER gets on the table, she is trained not to. :bitelip: However, the DOG is ANOTHER story........ :confused3 :earseek: :rolleyes1 (I have to tip the chairs against the table so he doesn't get up on it.) :confused3

My cats were never table or counter cats - don't know why, they just weren't - so it was a little hard for me to deal with my DD's cats jumping up on the table and the one counter in the kitchen..

Given time you might have had cats who were more inclined to get on the table or counters. Our old cats rarely did. Except the time my BIL, who did not like cats, was visiting. He poured his cereal, added the milk, and then got up from the table to get something. Yep, you guessed it, the cat got up and lapped up his milk. :rotfl: Of all people to do it to! :teeth:

But these cats are much worse at it. I can understand our cats since the dogs chase, but our kittens are bad and they do get spritzed by water. They'll learn eventually and have improved.

He get's locked up in another room a lot during dinner.

In my house cat's on the table are the least of my concerns. :teeth:

Our kittens are normally locked in the bathroom during dinner because it's when all our cats get their wet food and if I don't lock the kittens away they will eat their wet food and then push the cats out of the wat to eat theirs. So they get locked away for awhile. A couple nights ago we let them out before we'd eaten dinner and boy, was that a mistake! My DH was ready to have a coronary! Of course I laugh as I remove and/or scold the kittens. They are just so cute.

They are bad kitties, though and are into SO much. And then they crash and look almost dead. :rotfl:

We have a big box that a couple kitchen counter stools came in. I brought it into our kitchen and the kittens have had fun with that today and have pretty much stayed off the counter. I'll be gone all day tomorrow and I predict that my DH will have gotten rid of the box by the time I get home. Afterall, this box doesn't exactly go with our kitchen decor (whatever that is in my house :rotfl2: ).

Thankfully our dogs do not go on the table. One dog is tall enough to reach up if she wanted to, but she's pretty good about that. Of course she eats or chews up whatever the kittens knock off the table. Living in a house full of animals (kittens, cats, dogs, and kids... ;) ) does have its drawbacks!

My cat's favorite place to sleep is in a basket on top of the fridge. It is the only place where he can be left alone from the kids and the dog. And yes he uses the counter to get up there. There was a time when I didn't notice him in the washer and started the water with him in it. Thank goodness it was a load of jeans for the water was cold.

I have 5 cats and 2 dogs. All of the cats get on the table occasionally, but we do make them get down when we're eating. One of the cats likes to jump on the counter and knock the bread or other goodies off. Then the dogs eat it.

I'm afraid many of you would not like to eat at my house. I do wipe my counters and table frequently and try to be dilligent about the fur. With this many animals, though, it's impossible to keep it completely in check. I suppose it is kind of disgusting, but I love my furbabies too much to do anything except put up with it.

Yeah it's kind of gross, but Bert and Ernie (our 2 kitties) do get on our table sometimes. But we almost never eat at the table. And if we do, I clean it off well first.

Obviously I am a biased kitty lover, but I find dogs or babies slobbering all over stuff (or on me!) way grosser than cat fur on someone's table. I never like to sit down or touch anything at people's houses who have toddlers or lots of dogs. Everything is sticky :crazy2:.

Kind of funny--reading this thread and the "no dogs on the sofa" thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=979357 Maybe someone should start another one about kids doing what they shouldn't and I could also post on that one. Do I feel like my life is out of control? Nah, not me, everything is totally under control!!! :rotfl2:

Three of our 5 cats get on our table. It was a losing battle to try to keep them off especially when we're gone a good part of the day so I now keep a towel on the table and they are very happy to lay on that. Of course towel goes and table cloth gets wiped down before we eat dinner. :)

My kids jump on the sofa. I tell them not to. The rule is no feet on funiture. However, it happens.

Control is just an illustion anyway. :goodvibes

The only thing that I can control on a regular basis (excuse the pun) is my bladder. And that's on a good day! :rotfl2:

I keep our cats' food on the cupboard. They have to get up there to eat. If not, the dog would eat it. The cats pretty much go anywhere they want.

Our cat doesn't get on the table, but her favorite new place is behind the computer monitor and she tries to play with the "mouse" - honest, I will be using the computer and next thing I know the wires connecting the mouse are moving and the cat pops her head out from behind the monitor. Her other favorite places are the computer chair and lying completely streched out over one of the heater vents.

I tell you when I had a baby sitting on it, control wasn't so easy! Now I swear my 4 year old has better blader control then me (or at least does't need as many trips to the little girls room a day as I do.) ;)

My youngest, who is almost 6yo can go from 8:45 (before leaving for the school bus) until 3:45 (when he gets home) without going to the bathroom. He has something to drink in the morning and then a drink in his lunch. He will now finally go to the bathroom at school, but not every day and he wouldn't the first couple months at school. On Halloween when I was in the classroom for their party, I got him to go to the bathroom. After that he started going at school if he really has to. I have strange kids!

This summer we were driving to a friends wedding up in MI UP. We stayed the night at a hotel and the next moring we were driving in the middle of nowhere when DD states, "It would be a good thing if I used the bathroom soon." (This is a 4 year old). We both stop and think and quesiton, did she use the bathroom this morning when we got up, NO! She didn't. This was around 11:00 am. She went to bed at 9:00 the night before. :earseek:

We drove for 15 miles before we found a gas station. Then had to stand in line for 5 min before we got in. Thank God for her blader of steal! :rotfl:
